So how do you think this tank stack up to my sicaran venator in term of tank/knight killing ability?

(Venator with 2 lascannons at 230pts)

What's the venator's main gun like?
It's pretty awesome!

48" Heavy 3 S14 AP-4 D6

Any VEHICLE which suffers wounds from this weapon but is not slain must subtract 1 from its hit rolls in the Shooting phase until the end of its controlling player's next turn.

This model does not suffer the penalty to hit rolls for moving and firing Heavy weapons.

Ooh, plus 2 lascannons... Personally I prefer the venator then. That said, playing fluffy in a pure Primaris force... Does shift things a tad.

It's only Str12

The big problem with a Sicaran Venator is the lack of fly and lower toughness.

That being said, it's very fast and also suffers no movement penalties.

I'm sold on the Executioner. The data sheet will obviously see a bit of an update (the degrading WS getting better over A is funny) but at 293 points for the laser option I can fit 2 into my mech list.

I was hoping it would be about the same points as a Repulsor. Now I’m probably looking at one of these and 1 or 2 Repulsors in a list. The funny thing is I’m leaning towards the less popular option of the macro plasma.... simply because I find it sexier and it was such an incredibly frustrating weapon mounted on a Redemptor! Finally no penalty to move and hit and an (admittedly minor) way of mitigating the disparity of only having a random D6 shots.

I'd be sold, if the preorders ever went up in EST time zones.

IDK man, I just preordered one (alongside a LOT of the movement trays for display case purposes).

I don't see how that would be feasible at all. To 'upgrade' an existing repulsor, you can't just replace the old turret for the new, you'd have to rip off the top plating, remove the mini turrets above side doors, to fit the new top structure in its place. It'd be an upgrade marketed solely to people who'd bought the old repulsor but still not assembled it.

Now I'm glad I didn't glue on the top structure yet, as I was expecting at least one alternative turret given the layout of the sprues. :)

Well they got my money. Still wish it had more optional wargear, makes all those times i was torn on weather i should put storm bolters on rhinos/razors seem pointless now.

Repelsors have their own pattern of doors.

So landraider doors?

Stalker Icarus turret to replace the onsalught, and main Cannon shifted to the center so only one main Cannon on the turret.

Shadowspear isn't a great comparison in that it's a boxed game in the first place so not comparable to selling a single model.

I'm wrong on the other point though - completely forgot about machine spirit!

First repulsor. Inceptors. Intercessors. The skull mask guys no one ever uses. Their librarian. Their generic captain. Aggressors.

Literally every unit in the primaris army except hellblasters was overpriced on release. Inceptors were MASSIVELY overpriced.

For me the tank has actually exceeded expectations. I've pre-ordered one, and I'm not yet sure if I should pull the trigger on a second.

The average damage isn't actually far higher than a normal Repulsor, and you do sacrifice mobility. I imagine I'll still be using the Regular variants alongside it.

I'm a bit confused if I want this or not. I usually run my squads in groups of 5 plus a wolf priest, totalling 6. Which this repulsor is perfect for towing around my intercessor units. However I still uneasy of using at as a transport with that massive cannon sticking out.

For those that magnatize, this seems like a dream.

It's a bit frustrating it's only 6 capacity, which means you can't transport a captain AND a squad of anything bar eliminators. Do Suppressors count as jump pack?

4 aggressors, apothecary and another support character seem like a good option?

Reduces 3 drops to 1

Yes...you can? Primaris Captain + 5 Intercessors/Hellblasters/Reivers. Am I missing something?

Not that you’d really want to with this tank. Protecting three Aggressors might be fine.

5 man Intercessor and Hellblaster squads work. Add the buff character of your choice alongside.

Gravis counts as 2, so it can carry 3 only.
