GenCon updates

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

If it has an expansion featuring a canyon, some Ork fighter-bommers and a sulpher river, I'm in.

I wonder what the scale will be - I still have a pair of original AI Vultures. It'd be nice to finally get use out of them.

Weird to get this before Battlefleet Gothic and before every faction has flyers *Omnissiah I beseech there, return to your humble servants the Ornithopter STC* but if they ensure this is on the same scale as Titanicus.....

It gives basically zero information except that it has to do with flyers in 40k. Is it a new side system? A flyer supplement for main 40k? A videogame? Who knows!

So yeah, I'm really not rude it's basically just cultural differences that act against me here. Again, I apologize.

If it's a separate thing then I'm unfortunately not really interested. Ain't got nobody time for more warhammer subgames. ^^

I loved the original one, so can't wait to see what they do with the remake.

The first edition used the Epic scale range of FW flyers, but I have no idea if they will keep it that way. I doubt it will be anything in plastic, since this field is just too "niche inside of a niche". I still have everything from the last time it was around, so: bring it on! yes.gif

I dunno, you could get a good few fighters on a standard sprue. Could almost be like Epic, a sprue per faction.

Also: Plastic Thunderhawk. Just sayin’...

With what they said about BFG (will take multiple years to model up the fleets) I think SG were looking for a quick win for this year’s SG game system release and they have the Aeronautica stuff modelled to small scales ready to go (maybe even digitally).

As has been said above, maybe it’ll be pitched at X-Wing.

I regret not buying it last time, so will almost certainly pick this up.

Really crossing my fingers it’s the same scale as AT so that eventually epic just becomes an infantry stand release as the vehicles are already out.

Your opinion is important, and someone posting here probably does care what you think. You should go tell them. Remember that it really hurts to come up with an idea you care about and have no one else care. Go care about something and tell them what you think. Now. Think of what it would have meant to you when you were young.

AI was a great game hobbled by being madly expensive FW resin or OOP metals to play with, move it to AT scale for future epic and give us plastic fighter squadrons like the knights from AT with the Superheavies clocking up a couple of sprues like a warhound/reaver and itll be spot on :)

Plus you really can use your old models as in the rules its the base which is the game piece! :D

You're right that AI was a great game, but for the time it was relatively cheap. Two Thunderbolts for £12, two Lightning Strikes for £10, an entire fleet could be around £50-60, not bad at all. What killed it, like the rest of Specialist Games, was a complete lack of support after the initial few months releases.
The game could have a bright future if it's supported to the level Necromunda and Titanicus are being supported. Fingers crossed

I have to wonder when this game is supposed to take place in the timeline. Have they said anything about it? While I prefer Titanicus (and hopefully BFG) be centered around the Heresy, this could get pretty boring if it's also 30K only.

And yes, it was prohibitively expensive before. It was all resin via FW so they charged an arm and a leg, which now that it's OOP folks are charging even MORE via eBay (much of which I suspect is recast anyhow) for a niche game that never really took off.

Never really took off? I couldn't help but laugh at that. I don't know if that was an intended joke but have a like for it!

AI Isn't a priority for me but aircraft like Crimson Hunters and the Voidraven would look amazing in the smaller scale.

If it’s plastic I will get it. Loved bombas over da sulfa river back in the day and I would be very keen to get a wing of interceptors at a scale that I can store easily.

I hope its the same scale as the older version, I wonder if it might be compatible with Titanicus so you can have a Titan battle group with friendly air support, that would be cool.

I could See them building up to an epic 30k Release with titanicus, aeronautica and a as of yet unanounced third game for tanks and infantry battles
But viciousness and glory were no longer enough. Killing enemies in battle was no longer enough. I wanted to fight the Eternal Crusade. I wanted to win the war.- Reclusiarch Grimaldus
