While I would like to be able to use Unyielding Ancient for mortal wounds - RAW tells me you can't. FNP rolls aren't considered saving throws though I'm pretty sure. Saving throws occur before damage rolls, hence why FNP rolls don't get affected by rules such as, +1 to saving rolls, since you make those rolls after the damage. FnP is a special rule that prevents damage (not whole wounds) AFTER you've failed your saving throws (including not being able to make one). If you take 6 dmg from a melta gun you roll 6 dice. Say you get 2 6s, then you take 4 dmg instead of 6. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I ask this because the other day I periled on double 6 and my opponent played the Daemonic Possession stratagem to roll 2D3 vs D3 for damage. Number of wounds was 4.
