I thought the models with the shields were Arbites as well, but I stand corrected. Weird thing about their slotta tab though is that it's labeled Fanatic and not Enforcer or Arbites.

That was the old Fanatic 'department', the old Specialist Games. I do recall them going to lengths to emphasise that these models were meant to represent Enforcers, not proper Arbites, hence their delving into the underhive instead of doing the planetary-level stuff you. Their dress was explained as basically imitation and there was stuff about them getting their fancy Judge Dredd-style ammo only on sufferance.

I would agree that Andy Hoare and crew do seem to be taking that further and making them more blatantly the well-equipped bully boys of the deeply corrupt hive leadership. "Just another gang" and all that.

Are there any photoshop magicians that can make those yellow details red on the enforcers?
I know you wizards exist :D

Give me a sec and I'll see what I can do.

Edit: Was unsure what type of red you wanted so went with the basic red red:

Thank you for doing that, much appreciated!

Really like the Enforcers - can definitely see them being multi-purpose too...

I really am not feeling those Enforcers. Maybe it's the paint scheme but I immediately thought of Infinity.

And, really, Primaris-style helmets? The rest of their gear looks okay, but the helmets really shatter the 'riot cop' vibe they had before.

It's probably the paint scheme more than anything. Their gear is a lot sleeker than I expected as well. Very curved and rounded. I was hoping for more of a riot officer theme, but instead they'd not be out of place as Space Marine Scouts - as several posts here allude to. I think it's really all in the helmets that's ruining the aesthetic for me.

I hope Forge World come out with alternate heads and quickly.

Also, no riot shields? Really?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we got Arbites as well as Enforcers at some point.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

Heads are perfect for Selucid Thorakites.

Definitely going to be using these as the basis for some Imperial Army -- these as groundpounders, Van Saar as Airborne Troopers. Very similar aesthetic -- specifically in the shoulderplates -- which can easily be unified further with headswaps (I've got some bits in mind already) and new weapons.

Lord Marshal, I could see the riot shields coming as a FW upgrade kit.
And Toxichobbit, I see what you mean, and then again it's not like Van Saars don't already have better gear than the standard guard. It's just that seeing how nice is the variety on designs in Necromunda and Warcry factions, it gives a bit of a "lazy" vibe to just go for "pseudoprimaris" helmets. I'm sure they will probably grow on me, specially considering I entered the hobby too late to get involved in previous Necromunda editions and the arbites/enforcers gang. However, I really like the revival focus of the new Necromunda edition, so putting "primaris" vibes into it feels kinda off.

I've been waiting for Enforcers or Arbites practically since the New Necromunda was announced, and I am a bit of a rabid badge carrying Judge Dredd fan.

They were not quite what I was expecting but I think they will grow on me. I am a fan of how the body armour looks a bit like a medieval cowl the sheriff of Nottingham's thugs would wear.

In a huge turn of irony, when GW finally releases a human set which comes with attractive full helmet options I want a half face version! It remains to be seen how easy the conversion would be, but would involve cutting the gas mask out and finding a smaller lower face donor. The Paint.net version I knocked up looks a bit odd as I think the no helmet head is too large to fit inside the helmets, but you get the idea. Perhaps FW will release an open face helmet pack. THE LAW certainly demands it.

I also did a crude Judge Dredd colours option.

It will be interesting to see how they size up to primaris as alternate scouts. They may be too small to fit into a crusader squad convincingly. As enforcers I agree a head swap may be needed. They are very nice figures but I was hoping for more of a dredd helmet myself.

Aside from the helmets, I’m not seeing a lot of difference between the old Enforcer stuff and these new guys... no overcoats. These sculpts just look a lot better.

Particular favourite is the chap utilising the Harries technique* to aim his stub revolver and flashlight (bottom right in the group photo). A really great element of narrative / character put into the design of a non-named character mini.

I'll admit that these aren't quite what I was expecting to see but I definitely like these a lot. Not entirely sold on the helmets, but I love the torso armour.

*I think that's the term. Supporting hand with flashlight underneath the pistol, wrists crossed?

I also appreciate that the guys at GW that built them have tried to give some variety to the repeated bodies, so that the repeated sprues are not so evident. In some of the other gangs the official pics had minis that were basically clones, it almost seemed like they had just copied and pasted them.

EDIT: By the way, for anyone not convinced by the helmets and that would like something closer to previous enforcer/arbites iterations, this might be of interest:

I agree that I do not think anything Games Workshop when I look at their design, outside of the few bolter-inspired rifles. I'd go as far as saying they stepped right out of Mass Effect 2: tweak the yellow and you've got Eclipse, paint them blue and you've got the Blue Suns. In fact, they remind me more of the rarely-seen policemen from the old Teen Titans cartoon than of anything I usually associate with Games Workshop. They're just too 'generic future soldier' and not enough 'Imperium' for me.

(You know, as opposed to the USAF, the 11th Parachute Brigade, Rambo's personality cult, the Wehrmacht, the Desert Rats, the Soviet Army, the Cossacks, the Mongols, the Prussians All Stars, Team Trench Fever and Her Majesty's professional Zulu-kickers, who all fit the gothic majesty of the nightmarishly dystopian far future so much better.)
