I declare Vow #2 complete

2 units of Eliminators (115 points after the 20% deduction)

Sorry still no bases Captain Semper. I have done 0 bases in my hobby career so far. It is the next hurdle I need to tackle but am scared

I modified my black/grey scheme....tempted to repaint the infiltrators now because I like this more

My eliminators are urban combat specialists

Cloaks have black exterior and eshin gray interior. I washed with agrax earthshade

I also repainted my Wolf Lord in Phobos armor from Vow #1

The helmet was bugging me too much

med_gallery_49686_15551_70780.jpg

med_gallery_49686_15551_20965.jpg

Darkened the helmet to eshin gray with some lead belcher on the snout and jaw portion

I also updated his cloak to the new black/grey and agrax scheme

I, TiguriusX, continue the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX on the side of the Space Wolves and vow to complete the following on or before September 1st, 2019:

Vow #3

Wolf Guard Battle Leader with jump pack, power fist and storm shield - 97 pts

*EDIT*

Adding a 5 man basic GH squad as well - 65 pts

Total vow - 162 pts

I will also give Contrast Paints a test on this model

med_gallery_49686_15551_100448.jpg

I realized I probably shouldn't make a special HQ the test model for my first ever contrast paint attempt.

Slapped together 5 GHs to experiment with first. Hopefully this isn't a problem as the vow hasn't been registered yet

How many total vows are we allowed this year?

Good progress Riku Eru - keep walking brother!

How many total vows are we allowed this year?

Congratulations for the completion T-X and good luck with the new vow. You have a 5 vows max limit - the same as in previous years. There is no points limit per vow but and overall limit of 20k points... ;)

Now let's see some more Wolves declaring completions before the cut-off for the 10th Weekly update!  :)

Vow #5 (my final vow this season)

2xChaplain Venerable Dreadnought with twin lascannons

Total-384 points

med_gallery_49686_15551_243504.jpg

The existing paint scheme will be completely replaced

I have a few custom items to add once the base color goes on

*edit*

So after sleeping on it I decided I want to go even bigger on my 5th and final vow.

If Captain Semper permits I will add a 5 man intercessor unit with power sword

Heads were pre-painted b/c I used them in kill team

Assigning a 20% penalty makes them 71 points (89 points originally)

Updated Vow #5

Total-455 points

Have to admit I am struggling a bit. Hiiting my paint fatigue limits...

Here is where I am at so far:

What colour to do his helmet??

First off, I tried out some contrast paints, it was a bit mixed.

I did snakebite leather on all he leather, I tried different browns, such as mournfang, xv-88, rhinox hide and dryad bark. I found it all looked really flat, so reapplied the brown and gave a drybrush of longbeard grey.

This really helped it to pop, but unless the browns are very different, the contrast is so strong it ended up making all the different browns look almost the same.

Red was a very similar issue

Black templar just turned everything black, even with the drybrush, so I had to drybrush over it again

Mate, they are looking amazing. I think you could call them done and be proud of them.

I get what your saying though with fatigue, but your painting blog has always been an inspiration for the Rout. It's one last push to the end, keep you chin up brother.
