It has the same Detachments as 40k, straight from the book, so you can play your army right away. The video has lots of non-written information.
Ah yeah now that I've watched the video, you're right.
That being said watching the video it kinda felt the same as when they introduced 8th edition to us. Without knowing any details it feels more like a new edition than a semi-different system lol

Watching the video "Damage is done at the end of the turn" so you always get to use a model even if it is focused.
Also alternating activations of "Detachments" and not units.

Uhh. If the dread waaagh is a savings box I might have to grab it.
Also I really think, Marines Dex 2.0 is 1-2nd week of July.
I really want to see the rules and points for the rep. Ex.

So 40k gets dedicated movement trays before Age of Sigmar.
Apocalypse does, and clearly you’ve heard about the secret feature where if you try to put AoS models in these trays it makes all the paint fall off.

Apoc pre-order of June 29 means a release of July 6 - and given that SM Codex 2.0 will undoubtedly be tentpoled with the release of the Vanguard Primaris kits, I don’t think they are gong to have it directly after the Apoc release.

That and there should be some new Primaris units trickling out alongside the Shadowspear MPK kits. So likely late July / August before we see either SM Codex 2.0 or a dedicated Primaris Codex.
I wouldn't even gatekeep you.

Also alternating activations of "Detachments" and not units.
A CERTAIN SOMEONE I know, who works for GW, already had his test game of Apocalypse.
He said that a game of 6000 points per side, 3vs3 (+ a "Commander", for each side, whonin this case worked as a teacher), took JUST 3,5 HOURS, including prep and putting everything back.
Yes, he also said that your units gets to act/shoot/fight, even if they are obliterated in that same turn.
You also get to put down markers/tokens to decide the action/route your various detachments take, in alternating order - before both sides reveal their Commands.
The Units work in Detachments/Formations.
For example an HQ and his 3 troop squads need to be positioned within a certain radius around the HQ to gain benefits.
(HQ dies = No benefits, or diminished benefits if it has a secondary HQ -
Formation looses coherency = no benefits)
D12 are used for saves, to differentiate a bit more between units. (But negative effects could force you to use a D6)
Huge Squads like Guardsmen, Boyz or a bunch of Marines do NOT need to roll dozens of dice to determine their shots/attacks, but merely a handful.

So is the Marine Box, purely Primaris or also older marines too? I cannot tell if the back guys are Intercessors or Tacticals.

I'm looking forward to finding out what the D12's are for, with that many in the dice set it's got to be for to be something significant. Not just the occasional table or you would just get 1 or 2.
Edit - just ref Rikueru's post above. Glad to see saves move to a D12! I hope they copy that for main 40k eventually.

Definitely Intercessors. You can tell by that 'aiming the grenade launcher up' pose.

If those boxes are priced at more than 2x SC! ones, I don't see the benefit. The content seems around 2 SC! btw or those recent dual armies boxes (before shadowspear) like loocurse, forgebane, etc.... So, my guess, I'd say 125eur.

The "face value" of each of the boxes is;
Orks - £153.50
Imperial Knights - £145
Astra Militarum - £155
Tau Empire - £170
Adeptus Mechanicus - £148
Chaos Space Marines - £162
Space Marines - £167.50
Tyranids - £159
Necrons - £156
Eldar - £161
Based on that, I'd be hoping for a retail price of £120 each at most.

Sounds very promising. Honestly if it can be played in a similar timeframe or even quicker than regular 40k without having to have huge investments and the rules being better (we'll see about that) I can see it being the new thing in my group.

Perhaps of greater importance than the price per box is whether or not you'll be able to get them form third party retailers. That would make a few of these very tempting indeed.

Is anyone going to use the movement trays for 40K?

I'm definitely keen on the idea of it, especially for hordier armies, although the price will be the deciding factor.
