Experiences with Lord of Skulls

I have a Lord of Skulls sitting among my piles of built models and sprues, half built for about two years at least now. The upcoming Apocalypse, together with  ETL, made me think about finally finishing the build and then actually paint it.

 

How are your experiences with it on the battlefield?

I am also very curious. At 536pts for it's cheapest load out it seems over costed. I see chaos players use knights alot but never a lord of skulls.

The new Apoc is a whole new ruleset it seems so no comment there. But with the introduction of lord discordants and demonkin they've seen new life. You can take a supreme command detachment with disco lords and a master of possession with the Lord of skulls for a nasty self contained unit with plenty of points to fill out chaff.

I’m holding out hope that they drop the Gatling Cannon 100 points like they did for the Kytan.

I wish they sold the kytan as the Lord of skulls and the Lord of skulls at the kytan, then I might want to buy one. (Getting the kytan is a pain since it's forgeworld and is more expensive for the US and then there is getting the rules for it, where the LoS is in the codex)

Or you could just grab some knight legs from EBay and slap those on instead of using the dumpy lower half of the Lord of Skulls. It really isn’t that tough of a conversion.
