Hey folks,

Still fiddling around with this list and looking to finish a few models off/make purchases  if need be. So this is what I have been fooling around with-

Bjorn- TLC

Wolf Lord, jump pack, storm shield, thunderhammer- Wardlord Saga of the Wolfkin

3x5 Grey Hunters with plasmagun in each pack

5 Wolf Scouts- Pack Leader with plasma pistol, scout with plasma pistol, scout with plasmagun

6 Swift Claws, Wolfguard Leader with storm shield and storm bolter, Pack leader with powerfist

Wolfguard Battle Leader, jump pack, thunderhammer, combiplasma, armor of russ

Wolfguard Terminators- 3 stormbolter/shield, combiplasma/shield, combiplasma/chainfist

Wolfguard Terminators- 3 stormbolter/shield, combiplasma/shield, combiplasma/chainfist

5 Wulfen, 3 hammer/shield, 1 axe, 1 twin claws

Rune Priest on Bike, storm bolter, runic axe

6 Long Fangs, 1 lascannon, 4 missile launcher

6 Long Fangs, 1 lascannon, 4 missile launcher

3 Eliminators

2000 pts

11 Command Points

So I could easily enough take out a combiplasma and remove the eliminators and add a vindicare assassin. I havent played with either, so its hard for me to say. That said, if I do, I lose two command points as I lose a detachment and pay for the assassin. How do my lords/heros look?

I know folks think Wolfguard on bikes with storm shield and storm bolters are better than swiftclaws. I am just not sure. So I have 7 bikes and roughly 20 points extra for the cost of 5 wolfguard bikes. Since I already have a wolfguard with the swiftclaws, its really I get 6 swiftclaws for 4 wolfguard. So you get 24 shots vs 32 shots, and the 32 shots hit more (in the shooting phase)- however, each model loss hurts the WG more, not to mention I think the swiftclaws do much better in the close combat phase and they have a powerfist for dealing with high toughness models. I think its close enough that Im not going to worry about it, I think in some games the swiftclaws will do just fine and in others, I might be regretting I only have one storm shield. However, given I have 10 terminators and 12 long fangs, I would think the swiftclaws will be given a pass so to speak. Ill most likely move the bikes and lord around together while the WGBL and Rune Priest will support the terminators and Bjorn in the center. Scouts will pop out and support either unit and wulfen will try and get into melee as soon as possible. Thoughts?

What do you want your snipers to do?

Eliminators can deploy anywhere and give neat tricks to help you advance HQs up the board and not be shot

However 1 unit sucks at killing... need 2 minimum and 3 if you want results

If you want killing power bring an assassin

WG bikers also carry storm shields. They are not easy to remove and will make trouble if ignored

Doesnt the vindicare have just one shot? My thoughts were at least the eliminators have 3 shots though probably not individually as deadly.

Vindicare one shot has potential to do multiple wounds and kill a character. Spend CP and he can fire at a 2nd target as well. Character rule prevents return fire

eliminators with LOS can do d3 wounds but are easy to kill and S4 AP2 isn't reliable

eliminators hiding out of LOS do 1 wound per shot

Whats the vindicares one shot? I assume he is 2+ to hit, then he used to be wounding on a 4+ and what d3 dmg at  what -?

Vindicare gun is S5 AP3 and ignore invulnerable and cover so the best save ever is 5+ for terminators etc.

The special rule wounds keyword infantry on a 2+

Much more likely to get through than eliminators

d3 damage but a 6 to wound becomes d6

if target lives the headshot rule kicks in

3+ extra mortal wound roll again
4+
5+
6+

not guaranteed but potential for massive impact

He's such a thorn in the side, I'm going to try and wedge one into my next tourney in a few weeks.
