General advice vs eldar

Recommended Posts

So finally playing my first 8th Ed game vs my eldar buddy(his first as well). I am looking for any advice for what is good vs eldar and what I need to watch out for. I know he knows nothing of how to play competitively so I’m not facing some great tournament list. On my end I have at my disposal anything from nurgle, and almost anything from slaanesh.

A daemon prince with wings with talons and 3 single fiend units for a detachment and infernal enrapturess, masque, and syll’esske, followed my 3x max daemonette squads( or near max depending on points) and 15 seekers for around 1500 points

Since he isn't playing some meta list and Eldar can be very different depending on the list it's kinda hard to give solid advice here to be honest.

Against T'au I now would start listing all the stuff that's generally strong and things someone new might get surprised by, however I don't know Eldar nearly good enough to do that here. Maybe some other will do that instead.

Every time I've gone against Craftworld Eldar, they spam psychic buffs and debuffs and then shoot things to death. Use cover, psychic denial is important, kill the psykers whenever you can. If you can get penalties to being hit, that helps.

They're hard to hit and kill vs shooting but vulnerable in melee and vs auto hit

Smite/ mortal wounds/ auto hits/ Flamers

Melee

Flying melee

Anti psyker stuff can be good

Speed/deep strike etc

Daemon Princes fit the bill pretty well

What you have sounds good. Also don't forget the double perils strat - can auto kill a warlock, average kill a spiritseer and threaten a farseer
