Recommended starting point for A GK army?

I don’t know if three dreadknights is a good idea.

 

Get one maybe two.

 

Strike squads are still useful. Magnetize their backpacks to swap to interceptors as they are good too. Use this kit to make your Brotherhood champion.

 

 

 

Paladins are solid. From that kit you can actually make apothecaries and unnamed HQs. Highly recommended you do so.

 

Kaldor and Voldus are excellent HQs. All the rest are garbage.

 

Rhinos can be useful for troop transport but may not be needed since we can deepstike and portal across the board.

 

Land raiders can be good, but sometimes miss the mark because of anti tank. Check your local Mets to see if this fits.

 

Stormravens are probably the only decent air unit.

 

Not to discourage you, but you’re in for an uphill battle. I would suggest getting a box or two and having a couple of practice games to see how you feel.

 

Mainly because GK are not in a good spot codex wise. The models look amazing but the rules are lack luster.

 

Will it change? Probably.

 

When will that happen? No :cussing clue.

All the rest are garbage. 

 

 

Actually, Stern is cheaper than brother captain so can be taken for the same duty when short on points. Crowe is our second cheapest HQ and d6 MW can be nice once in a while. They were garbage, but Chapter Approved 2018 redeemed them a bit. 

 

Rhinos will be blown the turn they are in range of enemy anti-vehicle and Stormravens are still draw to much fire. Land Raiders can survive a turn, probably, but no more than that. Venerable Dreadnoughts are better at anti-vehicle duty.

Provides a good mix of options imo

So I wanted a Terminator army. End of line. I have 5 guys with falcions (wish I'd made them all have halberds, because IMO halberds are just the best space marine in Terminator armor other than power axes, especially if you cannonically fight big ass monsters as your primary duty)

 

If I was to be able to supplement the GK codex, everything gets +1 attack, and everything can be in Terminator armor (yes even Purgation and purifier squads) also everything can Blink/Gate of Infinity as well as ghetto smite.
