Conquest will come to Germany, finally. :)

Damnation starts with little steps, by arrogantly thinking that you are wiser than our great forbears, by tinkering with truth, by compromising, by departing from the straight and narrow path of the Emperor’s light.

Solid results but it sounds like a problem if Warhammer TV has to be the medium to launch their television show. Financially that won't make any money nor bring it to a wider audience like Netflix would.

Also, an incredible amount of space mentioning IP and its control. Tells me a lot about all the choices we've seen and continue to see going forward.

I almost don't care anymore lol

It's been so long, I've got about every model I want from the initial Primaris release. Maybe the Apothecary but that's it.

Well they consider it for now. It'll be a few years until they have to make the final decision. Ultimately I assume they'll offer a similar service as DC Universe, Star Trek and such.

-------------------------------

I'm mostly surprised that Germany gets so much attention from GW. I mean, sure population is rather dense here and people have lots of income to spend on luxury articles compared to other countries in the EU, but still. Anyway, looking forward to more GW stores the coming year. The local FLGS closed and now I can't really go and pick up a pot of paint just like that anymore (which is really annoying if you are a lazy butt like me who paints like 4 times a year and when the motivation kicks in you are stopped by dried up paints...)

Some interesting snippets for me

They dont seem worried about Brexit

Range/available range will expand significantly with expansion in production facilities

c80% of GW stores are one man operations

Only 20% of sales are direct online and I think that includes ordered in store. Not sure if that includes delivered to stores

They made a TONNE of money off Total War Warhammer 2

They/He really really emphasised the point about listening to feedback from the customer base/community

They aren't too worried about Brexit because it's 100% up in the air how it'll happen and everything they could do to prepare for it they already have done earlier this year. ^^

Has there been any info on when they will be done? A lot of talk seems to think that once they are done there will be a burst of new kits and overhauls for many armies. It makes sense if they have the CAD drawings and molds done and simply waiting on space to put them at.

Ah but if it's free to watch then more potential audience. They'll market the hell out of it too and it has the sharable factor.

Really intrigued to see how the new production facility changes things,we already get so many releases!

I doubt there will be a burst of new kits. They have been releasing models every month this year already and there's only so much people can buy. ^^

Well there could be even more with this extra capacity.

We know for example from jes goodwins comments that the bulk of the Primaris range was fully designed in 2015 altogether and they are just releasing it steadily in waves.

I think it’s safe to assume at this point the the main design studio at least can design more than they are currently able to release.

Plus there was the rumours of forgeworld moving a lot of heresy stuff to plastic by 2022.

My comment isn't about how much they can release. It's about how much of the released people can buy. Oversaturating a market is not a good thing. sweat.gif

The report stipulates what the core games are... AoS, 40K and Horus Heresy.

That is big. It's not just a commitment but also confirmation of future investment and growth.

True, but that assumes the market is near to the oversaturation point which may not necessarily be true.

It’s probably a difficult to determine when that would happen. For every person who is interested in everything and is feeling overwhelmed, there could be another person who is only interested in a few of the new things being released and is itching for more for their favoured factions.

I know they have to release things carefully as well so as not to overshadow major releases by putting them too close together.

Speaking personally, I would love for even more releases at this moment. They haven’t done much I am interested in for 40k this year save for the new paints, the mechanicus tank and BSF stuff. Specialist Games releases have kept me going nicely but they are not huge releases and I’d like more for 40k :)

Also can paint. The fact that I dont want to play with grey plastic and also dont want a huge pile of shame limits how much I buy.
Its also pretty much the deason why I am faorly sure, that I will ignore conquest when it finally arrives in Germany. Sage for maybe a few issues with characters.

This makes me excited for Total War Warhammer III. If they could nail a 40k Strategy Game the way CA nailed Total War Warhammer, they'd blow the roof off. Imagine if Dawn of War III hadn't tried to be an eSports game.

I feel a lot of folks have a backlog of "things to buy" that might be rearranged by releases, but not eliminated.
I personally got into Primaris late in the cycle and paint slowly. I've got the Primaris half of Dark Imperium and Shadowspear, a box of Reivers, box of Hellblasters, box of Aggressors, all the Lieutenant models, the 500th Captain and the Store Birthday Captain.
I still plan to buy the E2B kits, a box each of everything from the first release wave I don't yet own, and the new Repulsor. I know i won't be able to buy all of that before the next wave comes out, but I will buy it eventually.

There are certainly people who buy everything at once when it's released, but just as many who slow burn instead.

Of course, I may have missed your point entirely.

An interesting tidbit I noticed:

We are proud to manufacture our product in Nottingham. It's where we started and where we intend to stay. During the year we completed phase 1 of our new site, considerably expanding our production capacity, and phase 2, an expansion of our tooling facility and additional office space, is ongoing with completion expected in the Autumn of 2019.

I'm assuming the tooling facility is where the individual molds are made for their products - might mean we'll see bigger waves of stuff for releases, if they can make more molds at a given time.

They could be releasing new kits replacing old ones. Orks are a prime example, last year a friend bought a box of Boyz which were awful shape on the sprue. Plus the new vehicle orks have a entirely different design than the rest of the range.

When I worked in industrial automation our 'tooling facility' is where the machinists would fabricate stuff for the projects. It was just a section of the factory that had all the big metal tooling machines and a specialized power set up. I would imagine they've had the machines for a while just couldn't run all of them simultaneously. I've always been curious how they cut the molds (lasers, water, or good ol fashioned drill bits)

Another interesting tidbit:

We are eager to learn about the new 'space', particularly with regards production and distribution. Whilst our short term goal is to understand how the entertainment and media industry works (it appears somewhat complex and expensive), longer term we believe we can closer integrate our media efforts within our business. We are skilled storytellers who understand our IP better than anyone else. To ensure we make the most of that fact, we've formed the Warhammer Story Forge, a group of creatives who are both skilled writers and Warhammer experts. Together they have been and will continue to develop outlines, scripts and stories for media projects. Their creativity and passion will ensure we delight fans, deliver amazing Warhammer content to whole new audiences, and protect the integrity of our IP.

YMMV on how well they'll pull this off, but neat to see, nonetheless.

Without rereading the whole thing a lot has been done or is very near to completion or will be done next year

They spent millions retooling machine parts, expanding warehousing, expanding manufacturing workforce etc

At worst therell be more availability of existing kits IMO but Id imagine theyll replace stuff too
