Reivers - Are they worth it now?

In theory I like them as cheap 5 man units to drop where needed, either to grab objectives or snatch line breaker. In practice though, when I look at my hobby time... They'll stay in the box and I'll paint another 10 intercessors instead, because it's hands down a better use of the points. Again, if they were a troop choice I'd be sold. Reivers and Assault Marines should be troop choices, even let them fit in either force org slot.

When I ran reivers, I ran them with the grapnel launchers and the grav chutes. I haven’t used them in some time... is that even worth doing? Am I wasting points taking both?

Grapnels depend on terrain density, grav chutes on overall army build.  Point reduction should have helped

I think there’s now a case for grapnels. You are pretty likely to want to deploy around the edge of the board. It lets you charge stuff if it’s higher up, because you get to ignore the vertical distance.

Not on a charge sadly, only during movement phase. Same as the restrictions they put on fly.

Thought you could fly again in the charge phase except over fortifications?

You can fly over models, but not fortifications or terrain. The primary purpose of the rule was to stop to stop the zero distance vertical charge, not leapfrogging screens, so they corrected that in the latest CA.
