Did you always want to command your own (little) GIGANTIC Battleship of your Legion on your own table or have it hanging above your painting desk!?

Well, now you can!

Do you want to connect to Guilliman on the Macragge's Honour - no matter if it is during the Great Crusade or the Indomitus Crusade!?
710x528_27244603_14716568_1555083564.jpg

No? Well, then maybe the Gloriana Flagship of Abaddon himself would be something for you - the Vengeful Spirit, in its dark gown!

710x528_22431598_12514508_1519670820.jpg

Not interested in these fancy, far too much decorated ships, you want a work horse battleship? How about the Conqueror of the World Eaters!

710x528_27454205_14844776_1556723767.jpg

Maybe ther ORIGINAL Flamewrought would be more to your liking?
710x528_26330997_14303389_1548714797.jpg

Or do you want to command the Pride of Perturabo - the Iron Blood!
710x528_26308794_14312060_1548518146.jpg

Or the ship that Mortarion used from the Great Crusade to his most recent Invasions of Ultramar - the Endurance?

710x528_27684330_14970426_1558562817.jpg

How about the most beautiful of these old ladies, the magnificent, the glorious HRAFNKEL herself!

710x528_27736129_14994205_1558999031.jpg

Space Marine Legions not your kind of thing, no matter the flavour? You like to wear red(ish) robes, cog accessoires and cybernetic enhancements and additions to your mortal body?
Well, how about the SPERANZA! Magos Lexell Kotov sadly couldn't make it out of the Halo Scar with his ship... but maybe you (or Belisarius Cawl, if you are one of his brains!?) might have a use for this beauty of an Ark Mechanicus!
710x528_27917516_15085772_1560526707.jpg

There is also one I cannot connect to any of the known Glorianas - googling the title with 40k related tags just gives me hints towards the Dark Age of Technology?! So maybe soemthing meant to be a "Utopian" City/Palace Flagship of that Era? (Maybe some of our Spanish speaking Fraters may be able to enlighten me on that tho.)

710x528_22838388_12697339_1522167250.jpg

(Note: I am not connected to the Shapeways Shops or Modellers. I am just sharing these, because I found them, while looking for something else.)

P.S.:
Yes, I could not really control myself and bought the Hrafnkel. In highest detail. (But only in the "small" 16cm version, not the 900+€ 26cm version)
The excitement is drowning the small candle of regret within my heart.
Will post a pic of it, once it arrives sometime middle of September.

The last one is the Furious Abyss, one of the three Abyss-Class of the Word Bearers, which were super battleships bigger than the Gloriana-class.

Ha, the last one is the 'classic' Space Fleet design.

These are lovely. I've never got into fleet battle games, but they really appeal.

Where's the Eternal Crusader?

I know there WAS an Eternal Crusader on shapeways, being a mixture of a huge Imperial Navy Battleship and a Battle Barge, which looked very awesome.

I will check later if I can find it again.
It was named differently, to keep save from copyright.

They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

Those are quite expensive.
Unfortunately I don’t really know how much control people on shapeways have over that, I’ve heard shapeways is pretty restrictive with pricing.

I have uploaded a couple of items to shapeways that i have been asked to commission print. And found that shapeways thinks their stuff is plated in gold. I mean when I quoted him $125 for something that shapeways wanted $1200 for.

Very nice models. Very detailled (except for the Furious Abyss; that looks more like a work-in-progress).

Still, I really hope that when GW does produce a new BFG game, the models will have a less 2-D oriented appearance. I mean, these ships have no ventral guns to protect themselves from bottom-up attacks. And why are the midsections of Imperial ships always so narrow?

"The Nova Terra Interregnum has been remembered unfairly by those few who remember it at all. True, many malcontents, provocateurs and petty lordlings flocked to its banner when it seceded. But its attempts to contain the aggressive expansion of the Ecclesiarchy were born from an honest desire to uphold those values at the hart of the Great Crusade. It is ironic that the last gasp of the Emperor's true vision was finally throttled at the hands of those who fought in His divine name, on the planet that once reminded our Lord of 'Urf, long ago...'"

Is she one solid piece, not multiple parts?
Is it hollow?
How is the underside, smooth  like the rest or dusty, somewhat lower resolution?

Like what I see.

One beautiful solid piece.
As far as I can tell, she is not hollow at all.
Underside is really fine, just like all other angles and sides.
As a whole it is pretty stainless and clean - this was a first print so maybe they made extra sure.
It was also packed super secure in the package. Very much cushioning around it. In 3 layers. And styrofoam flocks.

I have to wonder, they list sizes... small and large. How big would a large one be? It's wicked expensive.

Well, using the one RikuEru got, the Hrafnkel's small size is listed at 2.09 x 2.5 x 6.42 inches (5.32 x 6.35 x 16.31 cm). The large size 3.46 x 4.14 x 10.62 inches (8.8 x 10.5 x 26.98 cm).

Which means that's likely width/height/length. So the "large" one is longer than a Knight is tall.

It's off to the side and isn't obvious unless you look at it and then change the sizes. It took me a few times of trying to figure it out then I noticed the numbers were changing when I changed the size of the piece

But yeah, it looks like the large one is pretty damn big

Eh, what is really disappointing here artist could show they are supposed to be same class by introducing common elements in 3D mesh, such as prow beneath the legion ornamentation, or midsection, and screwed up. They look literally nothing alike, you can find more similarities between Japanese and UK battleships made half a world away than between 'same' class ships made in literally the same dock.

I am also really puzzled how they are supposed to ram anything without bending these huge, expensive guns mounted for some stupid reason right in the middle of the prow. One of them has guns neatly tucked under it, somewhat shielded from impact, but the rest look like a child glued random spikes to model in order to make it 20% cooler...

You do realise they ALL are based on the existing Artworks (some of them older and less detailed than others, but still) for these ships?
Which is why the Red Tear and others do not have 3D models yet.

The Hrafnkel and the Iron Blood are 1:1 based on the blueprint sketches depicted in the FW Horus Heresy Books.
As seen here in my comparison:
https://www.instagra...id=799vgnqvo2xo

Also the Macragge's Honour matches the depictions we got to see in Art since the Gathering Storm books and the model playable in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada.
Same for the Vengeful Spirit.

So the Artist did exact copies of what he got to work with.

To argue that these Ship designs do not make sense is kinda... pointless aswell. You are talking about 20+ km long Ships
that tear holes into the fabric of reality to travel through another dimension, in a universe where Chainswords are one of the main weapons used, among other ridiculous things.

Additionally these ships were not a run of the mill massproduced class of standard battleships.
They were individually made Flagships of their specific Legion/Primarch, made to suit their specific needs and Legion (Void) Tactics.
They are meant to be unique.

Edit:
If you are willing to, look through the individual articles of the specific ships in the list provided in this article:
https://wh40k.lexica...lass_Battleship

Making a fully detailed 3D Model out of some of those old, small illustrations - for example of the Endurance - is a great success itself.
