Farewell to our Biker Brothers

Well looks like with today's Nova Open announcements and the announcement of Warhammer Legacy, we will see all those units on bike entries in the Index get one last pass over, then filed away to never be seen again.  Such a bummer, but I guess I need to find stuff to build a Librarian with jump pack now, since yea know, they dont make a model for that either but it still has an entry.

All I can say is that the Primaris Bikers better be amazing when they come, to take the sting of loosing all these older bike options.

Just need to adapt and be patient for Primaris Bikes to make an appearance.

Idea: Primaris jetbikes with heat shields that unfold into wings after atmospheric reentry, so Primaris White Scars bikers may Deep Strike from orbit. Include a Special Rule with which the biker may sacrifice one Attack per turn, in exchange for a "rocket boost" that increases his Movement by 18" (even if he already moved that turn), or to jump over obstacles as if his bike's a flyer instead of a skimmer...

That should be ample compensation for Moondrakken, which Kor'sarro Khan couldn't use since he crossed the Rubicon Primaris.

Not surprised at all by this as I saw it coming. Just need to adapt and be patient for Primaris Bikes to make an appearance.

Yea I am not surprised either... that moment that finally made it official is now upon us though.

I’m not entirely convinced that there will be Primaris bikes of any kind at this point. If there were ever a time to release those, it would have been along side the Vanguard for following the AoS release pattern, and alongside White Scars to follow a fluff logic.

I’ve got some hope that maybe - maybe - they release Primaris bikes (of any kind) either alongside some story element of Psychic Awakening or as Ravenwing bikes. However, I’m not willing to invest too much hope in there.

Man I kinda hope not. The whole Primaris line feels like the designers were all doing lines of coke and throwing out ideas.

They had a great thing going, taking notes from 30k and dropping the crap options (hellblasters got only plasma...but at least it's not only flamers...)

A Primaris jetbike will have ten guns on it that aren't Bolters but are s4 ap0 d1 with some other purple prose stuff to basically be Old Eldar Guardian Jetbikes before Phil Kelly went where Matt Ward wouldn't and let you give everybody the good guns.

So we will have Not Bolters but Bolters on some orky looking jetbikes.

Just...I'd rather not you know?

Primaris bikes will probably have twin heavy stubbers, frag launchers, and an Icarus rocket pod.

Don’t get me wrong, i’ll still buy them. I’m just sayin’.

Hey now, Cawl had to make R&D budget cuts somewhere for the primaris stuff. :teehee:

I wouldn't be surprised if we do see bikes eventually, as they seem to be intending to get at least one unit for each armour type in each combat role. We've got everything for Phobos now, and a few each for Gravis/Tacticus, but we're lacking the Tacticus Close Support squad, so the bikers could slot into there.

Well, Primaris bikes have apparently been officially leaked.

The bikes look good, but considering the Repulsor and Impulsor are effectively Primaris skimmers built to replace the Land Raider and Rhino, why don't Primaris bikers get skimmers as well, i.e., jetbikes? Maybe a variant of the Custodes' Dawneagle, as those are designed to fit individuals who are physically larger than non-Primaris Marines?

I don't think we'll ever get a proper in-universe reason for something that's obviously a design decision, however if I had to come up with something it would be something like this: Cawls anti-grav tech simply isn't as efficient as the original thing and requires a lot more space and energy supply than what would be feasible on a Bike.

The grav chutes on Reivers and Suppressors are only barely enough to slow their fall too (well in case of Suppressors they combine 4 grav-chutes and 6 jet thrusters to do have something like slow falling Jump Packs).
