Why is a certain city so deep with the earth?

I don’t think theyve mentioned North America once in any of the Heresy novels or Black Books.

Horus' memorialist - Petronella Vivar if memory serves - came from Merica.
See I thought that was an ancient kingdom in England, before William the Conqueror...well conquered and United England.

Then again they got that (awesome) line from The Emperor's Gift about how "the ancient Merican Kings believed that all men are created equal, but that Hyperion stood as proof of that idealistic lie" (I butchered that :( )

Mercia =/= 'merica

That's "Merica", not "'merica" pilgrim:wink:

Actually, Merica is mentioned in Graham McNeill's 'The Outcast Dead'. It was one of the nations defeated by the Emperor during the Unification Wars..... not to be confused with Mercia.

….. and it's here where I'll say we are getting a bit off topic:blush.:
