question for ya: sisters on fenris?

Any info on sisters on fenris? I heard they had a station once on fenris, I wonder if they do now after wrath of magnus.

 

 

Any info would be much appreciated.

As I plan on getting the starter and make some awesome fenris folk version of sisters!

Didnt the Wolves have issues with the Ecclesiarchy? Fired on their ships and told them to stick their religion up their Eye of Terror or somethin like that?? Why would they have Sisters running around when they could technically pose a risk to the Wolves faith with conversion?

Ahh that makes sense. I still need to read Wrath of Magnus fully, that will give me something to do tonight I think.  Actually I have neglected my Wolves since 8th dropped. Might dig them out and get painting. 

 

So Sisters on Fenris... This could be interesting.

Yeah there was a big fight between the wolves and the ecclesiarchy. Ecclesiarchy wanted to set up on fenris but the wolves said no and the ecclesiarchy said that was heresy and worked up a fleet. Don't remember if it came to a mini war or just some shots fired but basically wolves had some plot armour going for them and the ecclesiarchy decided to (and I quote from the cringey wolves codex) "let sleeping dogs lie". (Atrocious bit of fluff that was only going to end one way for obvious reasons).

 

Not sure what is happening there in cannon now.

 

In my head, ecclesiarchy and inquisition have moved in pretty quick to kick the puppy.

Well there is the "It's your hobby" thing which means you can do what you like, but there are a few ways you can make some Fenris style Sisters within the fluff. A convent saved by the Wolves, or a Space Wolf detachment saved by some Sisters - or just them fighting together over a campaign. The Sisters start picking up tokens and symbols of their comrades (hey, and vice versa why not?) over long years spent fighting together... let your fluff daemon out to work

 

Sure, the Ecclesiachy and Inquisition may have issues with the Spaces Wolves but that can easily be overcome on the ground in the thick of it. The Inquisitor may point and denounce the Wolves but the Sisters who've been in the trenches with them can shrug their shoulders and say they see a different side.

 

Just go for it and paint some Fenrisian Sisters - I want to see them now

Define "fenris folk version of sisters."

Unless it's changed in the upcoming new codex, Sisters are drawn from the Schola Progenium, home to the orphans of Imperial officials who died in the line of duty. As far as I can tell, unless they've been drafted under penalty of murdering their entire tribe by an inquisitor, there is no such thing as a Fenrisian official in the Imperium since the only way they're leaving Fenris is as Space Wolves. Who obviously/hopefully don't have children to be left as orphans because they thought it was a good idea to solo a carnifex with a toothpick.

These students will be indoctrinated into the Ecclesiarchy's way of thinking, and the Adepta Sororitas are chosen specifically from those with the greatest faith in the God-Emperor of Mankind. By which I mean, the Ecclesiarchy-approved Imperial Creed.

If there's such a thing as a Fenrisian Sister of Battle, the only thing Fenrisian in her will be her genes. She probably will have never seen Fenris in the first place, and most likely will look at their customs through the lens of 'are they Ecclesiarchy-approved?'

They probably are, since they do consider the "Allfather" a god if I recall correctly. The Space Wolves' 'nah, he's just the greatest great man to have ever greatmaned but he's not a god, you silly goose,' however, will leave her staring daggers at them, even without the usual (if I remember Faith & Fire right) belief among the Orders than all space marines are filthy mutants.

In the end, there won't be 'Fenrisian Sisters of Battle.' There will be some Sisters of Battle getting along with some Space Wolves to the point the two parties consider each other brothers in arms.

(This may change with a lore update, of course.)

The other option, female chapter serfs armed and armored as the Sisters of Battle are, likely amounts to the Space Wolves painting a target on their back even more than they usually do. These serfs being on the same battlefield as genuine Sisters of Battle will very probably involve unfortunate, thorough, totally accidental friendly fire at best during the actual battle or a straight out purge before it even begins at worst.

 

Not to mention the High Lords are iffy about chapters with their own private armies of mortals since that little scrap at Badab.

 

There are probably enough forge worlds who owe the Space Wolves a favor or two to equip these potential serfs appropriately, though. And I assume these 'Adersatz Sororitas' will be able to use genuine Acts of Faith too, since apparently Fenris actually does have this special spirit the Rout kept raving about during the Great Crusade.

About this hypothetical, post-Magnus station on Fenris, seeing as there's no persistent land on there outside of the Space Wolves' own continent, if it does exist, it's either floating on the waves or bolted to the bottom of the ocean. With the friendly wildlife that only wants a hug along with the regular tidal waves and earthquakes brought upon by the planet's orbit that implies...

 

Or it's on Asaheim and its coordinates are on the speed dial of every missile silo within the Fang.

Like the rest of post-Warzone: Fenris lore, if the Ecclesiarchy got involved with the Space Wolves' homeworld, that will probably be mentioned in the new codex. Since this will be their own book, perhaps the Sisters of Battle won't be red-painted furniture getting kicked around too.

 

edit: the Inquisition rounded up all Fenrisians suspected of chaotic taint after the invasion, didn't they? Perhaps enough young girls were proven innocent to survive and become Sisters of Battle. It's not a very bright Inquisitor who assembles them in the same force and sends them back to Fenris, and I don't know why some nobody peasant from a nowhere planet would be sent to the Schola or how someone who didn't graduate from there joined the Adepta Sororitas in the first place, but...

The Adepta Sororitas convent's likely location is the Isle of the Iron Masters, an AdMech enclave described in William King's novels. They tend to menial workers on that enclave, as native Fenrisian tribes are likely too superstitious to view the Sisters' "aid" as anything other than sorcery, and the Space Wolves themselves are unlikely to tolerate the Sisters' presence on Asaheim.

 

The Ordo Hereticus likely helped the Sisters set up shop on Fenris, to help monitor the native Fenrisians for signs of Chaos-taint- not that the Sisters can help with this, as they cannot leave the Isle of the Iron Masters unless they board transports (the Iron Masters' ships or their own flyers) the Wolves can track with ease, and the superstitious natives flee upon sight of their "iron beasts" and "sorcerous weapons"- and to serve as a weapon with which to purge the Wolves if the Chapter turns traitor- again, not that the Sisters can help with this, as the Wolves held off three Orders Militant on their own during the Fenris Incident.

 

The Wolves only accepted the Sisters' presence as a condition for accepting the greater Imperium's aid in healing the planet after Magnus ravaged it in 999.M41; they're confident they can purge Fenris of any busybody Sisters trying to shove Ecclessiarchal nonsense down their and their people's throats, and the Canoness knows this.

You could say your Fenrisian sisters are a female only power armored faction within the Fenrisian Huskaerl. The Huskaerl essentially being the Fenrisian equivalent to a PDF. This is/was my plan.

Knight of the Raven: regarding your statement about Fenrisians only leaving the planet as Space Wolves and there being no native Fenrisian Imperial officials, Aaron Dembski-Bowden’s novel “The Emperor’s Gift” features a Fenrisian Inquisitor, Annika. How she left Fenris and joined the Inquisition is, from my recollection, not explored.
