The fallen pilgrim crusade

Regards, brothers.

I want to post my crusade army list to share with you all.

I'm from a small town in northern Spain named El Temple, even with a Templar festivity in July, so, the army's choice was quite obvious to me.

I started to build my army and is background based on the historical purpose of templars: protecting pilgrims on his way to Holy Land.

In the 36M, after Saint Lucy was canonized, millions of pilgrims travel across the tumultuous system of Arcadia Prime to pay respect in the supposed homeworld of the living Saint. Some chaotic cults spurred by a huge force of the Thousand Sons start to attack and slave the poor protected pilgrims. The battle sisters from the Valerous hearth order, who keep the sacred place of their founder, can barely contain the impure waves of heretics. So, praising to the emperor for a help, a transmission from the Emendatio Magna, a black Templar cruise, enter in their communication system..

After almost 4 millennials, the fallen pilgrim crusade protect the migrants to Holy Land, fighting with zeal and fury to erradicate the heretic disease of this sacred place of the Galaxy.

After a huge amount of trying lists, i decide to make one mostly based of assault troops and close combat, with some firepower support.

Captain with jump pack, storm shield, theeth of Terra and hero of the chapter

Captain in bike with primarch wraith, SS and storm of fire

Chaplain with canticle of hate

Chaplain with jump pack, benediction of fury and mantra of strength

1x5 crusaders with sword brother storm bolter

2x5 neophytes

2x3 agressors with auto bolts

2x5 company vets with SS and SB

1x5 company vets with SS and chainsword

2x5 terminators with TH/SS

1x8 vanguard veterans with SS and chainsword

2x3 suppressors

1x3 eliminators

1 drop pod

I wanna post pictures too, but I don't know how to do on my phone. I hope have laptop back soon to do.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

You right, Medjugorje, but after some battles, I find usefully split that unit in 2, if the wind change against me, the enemy will divide the fire and have more chances of survive, or I will reserve one unit to deploy in 3th turn..anyways, with the great letany of canticle of hate and the charge re-rolls both units have granted the assault.

This is the actually list I have, but my crusade is bigger. Sometimes I include 3 units of veterans on bike, but with them on limbo i guard them for the moment. Also helbrecht and emperor's champion. One unit of reivers, hellblasters (with tabards), infiltrators, 15 initiates and 10 neophytes, 2 venerables, one venerable chaplain, land raider crusader, whirldwind, 3 landspeeders.

My idea is have some vets more, another chaplain and in a future, a small detachment of battle sisters, for the background, but let's see if them synergy with my bros.

Oh, my list is 2000 points, btw

Die you cut the torso up and glue an upgrade sprue Robe to its front? It looks pretty good I have to say

Thanks! Yeah, i cut the front torso of the hellblasters and glue the tabard, and cutting more to fit without greenstuff. My terminators have tabards too in the same way.

I did the same for some black reach terminators, looks good.

I hadnt thought about doing it that way before. Mainly because I Havent painted that many primaris up until now and was weirded out by the new semi preposed kits to be completely honest.

Are there any glaring seams on the model? Did you add some greenstuff/plasticard? Because damn thats a great way to use intercessors and hellblasters as a templar.

No, all the breaches are hidden by arm positioning, shoulder pads or purity seals. The greenstuff is a filthy Ork thing, I cut with chainsword and glue with the Emperors will...XD. Seriously, no , I only use an excessive amount of bits and even for some models I use 3 arm bits to make one, but with patient all those breach lines never are visible

I had a 2000 pts game against Tau.

Tau forces was:

 Also a Hammerhead and 5 Xv25

In my side, i had:

With 3 eliminators hidden
2x5 neophytes with combat knife
3 landspeeders with heavybolt and heavyflamer
2x3 veterans on bike with  SS and Stormbolter and sword bro with TH and Stormbolter
2x3 agressor with autobolt
1x6 crusaders with bolter and stormbolter
and my warlord was a captain on bike with SS, primarch wraith and Storm of fire.
In the rhino: grimaldus, a leutenant and 5 company vets with storm shield and chainsword.
In reserve: 5 terminators with TH/SS, 3xsupressors, a chaplain in terminator armour (canticle of hate) a captain with jump pack, Theeth of Terra, hero of the chapter and imperium sword. Also 8 vanguard vets with SS and chainsword.

He started first, but the templars are the emperor´s finest and i steal the initiative.

i advance with all my army, a unit of neophytes had a succesfull charge to the stealthsuits (only 2 brothers died) and with landspeeders (i used the stratagem to gave them th 4++ saving) erase 5 drones and cause 3 wounds to the hammerhead.

Screenshot 2019 09 14 12 10 20

(After this, my phone die and i cannot take more pictures)

My agreesor advance and fire and kill 7 firewarriors, my vets on bike do the same on the shield drones and my eliminators let his commander in 1 wound after shoot the mortis rounds, My rhino and the crusaders advance to control points and my other neophyte unit move to take cover and prepare for next round charge.

His first round was a shooting gallery, but his unluck with dices was opossite to my luck with saving throws: 2 vet on bike and 2 agressors die, rhino lost 5 wounds and landspeeders suffer 3 wounds. His flying ship (didnt remember the name) killed a eliminator and wound one more. With our new chapter rule of invulnerable of 5++ on mortals i could evade some wounds from that overcharged tau weapons, for misfortune of my opponent.

My glorius and last turn, i advance again to his possition (he barely moves all the battle). With agressors and bikers erase the remain shield drones and some firewarriors. Eliminators finally kill the tau commander and landspeeders burn all the stealthsuits and wound the riptide. With the Xv25 out i had space to deploy the supressors and my vanguard vets in that position, my terminators and chaplain in front of the riptide and after deploy the guys from rhino, this one manage to charge the riptide evading the overwatch fire.

My captain on jumppack assault the left flank, fully of gun drones and the firewarriors survivors. My vanguard vets to the "tiny" battlesuits (3 brothers die on overwatch) and my terminators had free way to charge the riptide.

With vanguard vets i used the hammer of wraith stratagem causing 4 mortal wounds and a exaggerated amount of damage with chainswords, killing the battlesuit.

Terminators manage the assault too and just destroy the riptide (fury of the first and grimaldus  making 6s generate another attack...)

In this point, my mate granted me the victory. he only scores first blood and 2 points for strategic point when i was 9 points in my combat phase (with more brothers to charge and kill xenos)

Was a very funny game, i admit i had tons of lucky with savings and him bad with shoots. landspeeders can be a pain to bubbles when are in unit of 3 and moving 20", vanguard vets with chainsword and proper buffs are just meat mincer, and terminators are...terminators.

Next week i will play vs tau again, this time with a friend and competitive list, harder than this one, so i will change my list too. Lets see what happen.

P.S: chaplains must be one per unit, at least :biggrin.:

Sorry for the pics and dont judge me for the landspeeders, are second handed and need some black over that heretic coulours
