I imagine its a permanent 5 man honour guard for the head of the house or something like that. Also when the navigator houses have wars with each other, are the space marine honour guards honour bound to kill each other in that situation? Might be one of the reasons chapters don't get along. Or navigators have a stake in a rouge trader dynasty and part of the deal is escorts on X route or something? Just seemed interesting to discuss.
