Second 6-man squad finished, Call of Chaos Completed!

Also, SlaveToDarkness, I did indeed go with your recommendation of making the trophy helmet an Ultramarine :laugh.:

I'll get a group shot done on Saturday when I'm at my local GW for their Christmas/Secret Santa party thing.

JUST ONE DAY TO GO!

OK everyone, this is it! Please note that the event will remain open for the whole day tomorrow so all time zones will have the 15th available!

Fantastic work all around so far - a lot of titles have already been allocated! But now time is an issue - try to utilise the whole tomorrow and keep the Gods happy! :)

JUST ONE DAY TO GO!

But time flow different in the Eye of Terror... ?

Just got my Armiger get done today.  Lot models are not complete to my standard, but to standard I can call them complete for the event & will go back later during the holidays to finish painting them.

Just out side hobby life & just catch up with a lot stuff (horrible virus April to June, two month my life stolen) so I can enjoy my Christmas holidays & get space.

I was busy traveling for the last couple of weeks, but I should be able to finish everything today and tomorrow.  My Scarab Occult Terminators are done, my Exalted Sorcerers are about 70% finished, and my basic sorcerers are just primed but should go quick.

Iron-Daemon Forge

1. Havocs w/Autocannons (x5) COMPLETE

2. Havocs w/Chaincannon (x5) COMPLETE

3. Lord Discordant

4. Iron Warriors Rhino

5. Iron Warriors Rhino

6. Helbrute COMPLETE

7. Executioner COMPLETE

8. Armiger

9. Armiger

10. Armiger

11. Chaos Knight Rampage

12. Nurgle Lord

13. Greater Possessed

14. Greater Possessed

Going to have to call this complete. Lot models are not to the standard I'd like to, but I can always go back later date to paint them. Just stuff in personal life, then early in the year (April to June) having a horrible virus for two months mean a lot of stuff in my personal life was effected eg: I'm self employed, so no one cover me when I'm unwell. Just meant time got away from me.

Needless to say I can not wait, just a few more days until my Christmas holidays start & looking forward to been as anti social as possible.

Front left to Right: 2x Rhinos, 5 Autocannon Havocs, Master of Execution, 2x Greater Possessed, 1 Nurgle Lord, 5x CHaincannon Havoc

Back left to Right: 2x Armiger, Knight, 1x Armiger.

Keep going everyone, you have the entire day today - I will be officially closing the event tomorrow so people will have the day available across all time-zones!

Fantastic progress guys!

@ Dwango: Those Knights look boss! Congratulations - these are super-imposing centerpieces!

@ Iron-Daemon Forge: Time flows differently indeed! Another Warmaster title for you my friend, and a well-deserved one as you painted tons of models again and at your usual very high standards! Bravo!

@ Desanaman: Good progress man, keep at it and it will be the difference between becoming Warmaster or Spawn!

My sincere apologies - I have failed.

In between wrapping up a long school year, struggling with sickness in the family, and work on the property, I didn't manage to finish the last couple highlights and detail touch-ups on the remaining three squads. I suppose I could just take a picture of what I've got and call it a day and get away with it. But my goal was to bring all squads to the level of the finished first one and at that I failed. Haven't had the energy to pick up a brush in a week or so.

They're almost done though and I'm proud of what I've achieved on top of everything else. Gave it all I got and made some good progress - that's good enough for me. I'll wear my banner of shame with pride.

Okay so the usual crappy pics inbound but I declare I have (for the first time ever) have actually completed my Call of Chaos vow:

Okay so bases aren't 100% due to my lovely son destroying my super glue but at least they have bases of a sort. I hope to get a good group shot up once I finish their bases when I can acquire superglue at some point but until then I have answered the Dark Gods call and now can know equal parts madness and peace.

Aye brothers, I hereby announce my call of chaos complete!

Crawling in after my khorne marines (http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358459-call-of-chaos-xii/?p=5441516) on this last day of the event, the final unit in my vow is complete!

It has been another great challenge to finish all my pledged units, and I am happy I made it again. Together with the ETL vows from earlier this year I have finished a record breaking amount of units for my army. I really like these kind of events as they create a nice boost to paint morale and also giving a huge treasure of ideas from you fellow Frater!

Thank you Captain Semper for organizing, and squeezing in that Warmaster of chaos title for me

Well done to so many of you. Great completions and progress made everywhere.

Here are my Blightlord Terminators, I've literally just finished them (bases are still wet),..

img_20191215_224827.jpg

Unfortunetley for me I vowed too much. I've still got some cultists and typhus to finish. So i'm going to be failing.

I'm pleased with all the things I completed. I didn't stop but I didn't finish on time either. Just vowed too much. I had a feeling from the start those last two units would catch me out. I'm converting them and that always takes longer,

Here's a look at a couple of cultists to give you an idea of what would be if I managed to get them done on time...

And here's the completed Call of Chaos vow:

  1. Plague Marines x10 (2 Blight Launchers, Power Fist, Plasma Gun and Plaguesword on Champion, 7 Bolters)
  2. Nurgle-marked Sorcerer (Force Staff)
  3. Chaos Lord with Jump Pack (Lightning Claws)
  4. Tzeentch-marked Sorcerer (Force Sword)
  5. Chaos Marines x6 (Combi-bolter on Champion, Reaper Chaincannon, 4 Bolters)
  6. Chaos Marines x6 (Combi-bolter on Champion, Reaper Chaincannon, 4 Bolters)

There's a few other models in there, but that's because that was the force I brought to a game. Also, today was my first time having a fully painted army on the table. Feels good.

Thanks! He looks awesome, but I learned something against the T'au today:

The wings actually hinder him because of overwatch. Due to his base and wings, he's taller than most LoS-blocking walls..... And you know what being visible to T'au when you charge means......

Dude, this is a game where form over function is the norm. Skullreavers, anyone? If you're gonna model, model for fun. That's what converting's really for, after all.

THE TWELFTH CALL OF CHAOS IS OFFICIALLY OVER!

Another Call of Chaos has come to an end.

This year we had 31 participants of which 19 reported a completion - that's a 61% completion rate right there (vs. 58% last year)! It seems the CoC remains a popular event despite being in its 12th incarnation and the Chaos community embraces it with similar enthusiasm year after year.

As usual the quality was outstanding and the imagination on colours and conversions at impressively high levels! I hope everyone had fun building, converting and painting and keeping grey plastic under control (as much as possible)... :laugh.: The range remains one of the most evocative of the 40k Universe

Now before I go any further:

PLEASE CHECK THE FIRST PAGE TO MAKE SURE YOUR STATUS IS CORRECTLY DEPICTED!

So time for the badges. If you think I got your stats wrong, before you reach for the bolter, pick the badge you believe is correct and then notify me to correct any mistake.

The generic participation badge for the event is this:

gallery_48988_15808_10055.png

The title bases are rectangular and can be used either as a standalone option, thus:

gallery_48988_15808_13455.png

or in conjunction with the generic longer one, thus:

gallery_48988_15808_10055.pnggallery_48988_15808_13455.png

There are also the medallion style badges for those who want to economise on the signature space:

Thank you Master of the Arsenal! I would also like to say I'm sorry I was not around as much as I'd like but developments at work and a mini hobby burn-out played their part...

Congratulations to all and until next year, farewell!
