Tank Orders and falling back

Rogue

Recommended Posts

Okay, last one.

When you fall back from combat, one of the restrictions is that you can't shoot later in the turn.

Tank orders are issued at the start of the shooting phase. One of them, Full Throttle!, allows the ordered model to move as if it were the movement phase instead of shooting.

If a tank commander has fallen back, it can still potentially issue orders. Does the fact that Full Throttle allows a move instead of shooting mean that it can or can't be used in the same turn as falling back?

We played that it can, but looking in more detail after the game, I think we might have played this one wrong...

Anyone care to confirm my fears?

I think your fine....

Q: Can abilities that are used ‘instead of shooting’, such as Smoke Launchers, be used if the model using them has Fallen Back, Advanced or has enemy models within 1" of it? A: Yes. A model can use such an ability so long as it does not shoot – it does not matter whether this is because the model cannot shoot or it chooses not to.

this is from the main rulebook FAQ... i've bolded the relevant bits..
