I interpret the pose as he’s just spotted something he wants to challenge with the double-handed blade, and has just slammed the two individual blades together to make the big one. The tassels make sense then.

It's kind of like the Intercessor sergeant in Dark Imperium (the one with his left hand off his rifle). It looks goofy, until you look at the model from it's side and realize he's reaching for his bolt pistol.

To be honest, now that you've said this, it makes the pose suddenly make sense.

100 times this! It's pretty subtle as well, but immediately adds movement and menace to the figure.

Im really not seeing too much of a difference to the old models... The helmet is more refined and they've added a tiny amount of extra armour detail (gems). But what's so different? Even the pose is relatively just as static.

Incubi are supposed to be statically posed, they're the 'pragmatic every action is deliberately chosen to be as efficient as possible' martial artists opposed to the Wyche Cult's crowd pleasing gladiatorial antics.

Biggest difference, they are finally getting rid of the failcast that it currently is in. Luckily all my Incubi were purchased in metal before they started using finecast.

Not sure what you would expect for a Dark Eldar release anyway, GW doesn't really bother to give them new toys. There isn't anything in their book that wasn't present in the 5th edition reboot, just removal of named characters and units that didn't have unique miniatures over the last two codex.

This release is literally 'giving new toys' to them.

It is said people would complain even if GW decided to give everyone free models for life 🙄

New toys for model collectors, not new toys for the faction. Daiklaives were in the previous editions they just removed them for the 8th ed codex.

Well, speaking as a long-time DE player, that's exactly what I wanted. The existing Incubi models are really nice, it's just the medium of Finecast and it's tendency for bendy glaives that lets them down.
