This is my relapse!

Hello everyone,

Lapsed hobbyist only recently returned to the hobby after a few years away. So this is... my... er... relapse from my lapse.

Aaaanyway...

I started playing in 3rd Edition, played consistently till sometime during 7th (I think?), and have come back to discover a lot has changed. I've mostly caught up all the rules, but haven't had a chance to play any games yet.

Tyranids were my first love, followed by Chaos, Dark Eldar/Drukhari, Sisters of Battle, Eldar/Aeldari, dabbled in Necrontyr, and failed several times to commit to a Blood Angels or an Ultramarine army (the poor dears kept getting scrapped and turned into renegades for my Chaos). Technically speaking, since I have a Fantasy/AoS Daemon army I technically have a Daemon army too - assuming I take the time to do the whole putting-things-on-round-bases-thing.

I've also played a lot of Fantasy and am also moving back into Age of Sigmar.

It was the announcement of the new Sisters coming out in November that really convinced me to get back to things, but I'm currently focused on my Emperor's Children, rediscovering old painting techniques, finding out the new shinies, and theory-building lists.

I've been lurking for a week or two, but decided it was time to dive in and say hello. Looking forward to being here!

Awww yeah, already scoring brownie points with one of the admins. Go me!

(I kid, of course.)

But yeah, wow, the more I look the most I realise how much things have changed. Basic stats, battle rounds, force organisation, and so on. I think I have the theory down pat but it's gonna take a lot of games before I've rebuilt some of that experience as to what works/what's fun and what doesn't/isn't. It's one of the reasons I joined up here, to get feedback and thoughts on lists and such, not to mention share thoughts with some of amazingly talented modeling/painting people here. Inspiration and all that.
