Bolt Rifles: Which do you prefer?

I still like the regular bolt rifle a lot. Sure, it gets out-damaged by the auto bolt rifle, but not by much. And I don't really see that as a big deal with Intercessors; they may make up the bulk of my anti-infantry firepower, but I'm not really taking them for the guns. I take them because they're a solid chunk of wounds that can do reasonably well in assault or shooting. If I need the extra firepower, I have the option to put out a Rapid Fire, and if I don't I still have squads with a main weapon that performs reasonably well both holding objectives and moving forward. Plus saving points was handy in the list I finalized (well, until my supplement is out) earlier.

I run Autos with my wolves. I really think it comes down to personal preference and playstyle though. The difference between the options mathhammer wise is pretty slight. I like the Autos because I plan on getting into CC. Edited September 30, 2019 by Black_Star

Just about sold on Autos being worth the extra point because of Fists Chapter tactics, just more chances to roll a juicy 6. I really like that we're not sure which rifle is the best and that it's so close it's all about how they're being used or the Chapter tactics involved.

The autoboltrifles would be more tempting if primaris had some sort of transport - then the (lack of) range would be less of an issue.

I wonder if some people have started using their Rhinos as a proxy for it? lol

This has always been my favorite boltgun. The late 2nd edition early 3rd space wolves AK looking one.
