Warriors of the Omnissiah - Skitarii, Iron Hands and Knights

Hello all,

I've been lurking on these forums for a few years now, and I've decided it's about time I contributed a bit more than the occasional comment. As such, I've decided to start this topic so that I can share my work with others and hopefully be a bit more active on this site. I've also always been a bit of a slow painter, so I'm hoping that this will also help motivate me to paint a bit faster. I plan to start off this topic with my knights and Skitarii, but with the Iron hands supplement right around the corner expect to see some sons of the Gorgon in the future.

I figured I'd start off my posting with something big (and painted), so here's my as yet unnamed Imperial Knight crusader of House Taranis. I got this guy back when the first Imperial Knights: Rengade box came out, and the model was an absolute joy to paint. I'm aware that the picture quality isn't fantastic, in part because I lack a light box and had to make do with a table top, but it's the best I had to work with. I'll try and get something better set up in future.

Thanks for checking out the start of my hobby log. I'll try to follow this post up ASAP with some of my AdMech stuff, but I might need to take some time to figure out how make the images look a bit better first.

As promised, Here's a handful of models from my Voss Prime army; an enginseer and five skitarii vanguard. As much as I love how the scheme looks, painting a lot of these guys can certainly be a chore. They're very detailed for a cheap troop unit.

The Skitarii:

Here's one of an individual Skitarius:

And my tech-priest enginseer:

I cleared some space on what was previously a very messy painting desk so I'd have a slightly better location to take pictures. There's definitely still room for improvement with the picture quality, but at the minute I'm stuck with my phone camera and perhaps harsher lighting than I'd like. Also, since this is technically a WIP thread, I'll try and include more in progress stuff. I just wanted to start off with something painted.

You promised Iron Hands! I see no Hands! Show me your Hands!

Seriously tho, the Ad Mech are looking great. You went with a really interesting scheme for them too, should stand out really nicely on the table-top

Excellent works.

Nice.

Love the yellow and red on the Enginseer.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm also really happy with this scheme. When I saw it in the codex I knew I had to go for it, even if yellow can be a pain to paint. I always really liked the colour scheme for Howling Griffons, even if they weren't the chapter I chose in the end, so I was pretty happy to see AdMech get a similar scheme.

As for the lack of Iron Hands, don't worry, I've got them right here.

Just a WIP this time, this is the command squad I've kitbashed together from something like 20 different kits, and consisting of an apothecary, company champion, company ancient and two veterans. At present I don't have any Primaris for my Iron Hands and besides Feirros, which I am definitely getting, I don't have any plans to add any yet. I started this army back in 7th but never got around to painting them, so right now I only have old marines. Maybe once I get a demi-company or so I'll add some Primaris to the mix.

Here's a few individual shots of the squad members:

Also, here's a terminator librarian I'm working on. I still need to find a way to get a crux terminatus on the shoulder pad. I'll probably try press moulding some greenstuff or something.

YES! Great Librarian. Absolutly love it!

And, yeah, press moulding a crux works pretty well. I did that for all my termis. I used the shoulders off the Stern and Vanguard marines because they're a lot sharper and crisp than the ones off the actual terminators.
