shifting our revenue generation from sporadic to recurring has been incredibly powerful

Totally agree - if just 50 members were willing to do a $5/month payment like a subscription through the donation link, we'd have the yearly costs covered - that's half(ish) the cost of White Dwarf with just fifty folks. 100 users at $2.50 a month, etc.

As we head into the final hours before the deadline, we've raised $2,850, leaving only $150 until we reach our total goal.

Thanks to everyone that has donated in order to keep our site up and running for all of us. :biggrin.:

Just a note - the 10 October deadline was for sufficient funds to cover our annual hosting fee. We successfully collected that money and made payment, so the B&C is good for a year.

I don't have an exact amount collected because Brother Argos has that, but he's extremely busy with all of those pesky real life issues that keep all of us from spending 100% of our time here - things like a job, family, and all of that stuff. Once he's able to notify us, though, we'll provide the details.

Note, however, that there isn't a set window for making donations - members are more than welcome to donate year-round. All funds that we collect will go into any site maintenance that takes place, or will get rolled into next year's fees. So for those of you that still want to donate, don't let the "deadline" stop you.

Also, we are looking into the donation system and whether or not there may be additions/alternatives that we can implement in order to both support the site and make things secure and easy for our members. We're in the initial discussions about this, though, so don't expect an update soon (hopefully within a month or four).

So a preliminary "thank you" to everyone that donated, or will donate.

Expect an actual update (with numbers and good stuff like that) soon.

As always, the members of the community came through to ensure that this great site remains available to support our collective addiction to the hobby. In twelve days we raised $3,200. Meanwhile, @Brother Argos successfully negotiated a discount on the annual fee. Including taxes and additional fees, this year's cost was reduced down to $1,346.39. That leaves us with a balance of $1,853.61 for emergencies or rolling over for next year's fees (and we have more coming in all the time - I just received a $50 check from a member and another member has promised a $50 donation soon).

In addition, we have a little over $3,000 fenced off for the planned software update. We've been progressing very slowly on that front, but that progress has been ramped up considerably recently. That update should happen within the next few months (hopefully no more than the next six) and will bring some great additions to the site.

Lastly, we are working on some swag efforts for the community. These aren't fund raisers. Rather, they are nifty B&C merchandise products that members can use to show their servitude loyalty to the site. For example, I've begun initial talks with a company about another B&C dice run, and we're exploring additional products as well (I don't want to promise anything on anyone else's behalf, just in case any of these things fall through).

Once again, thank you to everyone that contributed to the site's upkeep.

A grand effort indeed, well done everyone :) The discount will make a big difference and before anyone asks; no the negotiations were not at the end of a bolter :tongue.:

I am eager for the upgrade and all it will be bring (probably more than anyone else! :laugh.: ) so please understand that it's going to take time as mentioned to get all those ducks in a row. The ducks need to be screened for heresy or impure thought, then trained to perform the Rite of Percussive Maintenance and this is just a single phase of the process...
