You may not know me ..  I have served ...

17 years as an Admin.

Last 3 years in a dreadnought sarcophagus

Only woken to fight ..

Now is the time to fight for what we do here ... Donate so we survive ... or we will fall.

A few have given, some generously.

It is not enough.

Do your part ... we do not burden you with adverts, our moderators and admins do not get paid. Everyone gives ... we are all brothers and sisters.

You might spend a fortune on figures, which are often left unpainted .. buy one less box and donate the cost of it to the B&C!

We raised around $300, we need at least $3000.

Donate for something you use daily / weekly / monthly / yearly. For all the help, support, advice ..

Argos

Done, but I'd like to add some discussion too. I believe that non-profits (and very notably Wikipedia) have a donation campaign once a year because it nets them better results than throwing it open year round. I suppose one could donate outside of the campaign, but (again, using Wikipedia as the example), I wouldn't even know how until that short period each year where they shove it in my face every time I visit the site.

Also, maybe a Patreon account? A lot of tiny monthly donations could add up right quick.

I’m not a heavy user, but I really enjoy the community here during my indoor hobby season. Keep up the great work!

Edit: hmm, I notice that there really does appear to be a coordinated donation campaign underway in the last 24 hours or so. Right then. Carry on!

It's a yearly thing

If only - $1/month from each unique repeat user per month would probably throw us over the $3K mark within a quarter of a year. The cost of one White Dwarf per person would set us for the year.

For this years donation, bardreason@hotmail.com. This is my old personal email from when we setup the B&C all those years ago.

We are arranging a more long term PayPal email for regular donations after this donation drive completes.

We came a long way yesterday and reached $750, unfortunately still short of our $3000 target.

Thank you to all those who have given generously over the past 2-3 days, we still have $2250 to get.

Remember, it is just the equivalent of a single model we are looking for. It will help everyone here for another year, beginners in the hobby all the way through to veterans from the Rogue Trader days.

These forums in many ways represent an ongoing history of Warhammer 40k, to access the skills and knowledge of thousands of gamers for almost 20 years. Let us maintain and grow that knowledge!

DONATE!

Hi Argos, I’m on a pension due to my mental health, so don’t get a lot of money each fortnight, but given how much I use this site and how imperative to my mental wellbeing, I’m going to make several smaller donations that add up to a larger amount. This place is important to me and has become my new online home, especially given that traffic of the site I used to frequent, Heresy Online (used to be moderator over there) is tumbleweed blowing through. Okay folks pay up, I am gong make my first payment post haste, we all use it, we don’t want lose it.

Edit: Just made my first micro donation, would have been more but PayPal charged me a conversion fee, will make sure it’s more next time

Same email? Reminder would be handy just want to make sure what comes up in my PayPal still works

You may have to update it to

bardreason@hotmail.com

Wait, last August I sent a PayPal donation to Bolterinquisition@gmail.com, does it mean it got lost in the warp?

Alright, I threw down.

I agree that a less omnipresent fundraising effort would be more impactful. People tune out things that are always there.

Also, you're allowed to be a little bit of an :censored: about it when it's only once a year. Post a thread on every board.
