Whirlwind Scorpius FAQ

Anyone else notice that the WW Scorpius (and WW Hyperios, for that matter), both lost the "Whirlwind" Key Word in the FAQ just released for Imperial Armour?

Bottom line, they are no longer eligible to use the "Suppressive Fire" shoot twice Strat.

I've had two games with it in the last week and I think I removed two infantry models in 5 turns in both games.

Indirect fire is precious but it needs to actually do something....

Oof, this is a good example of how the mathhammer doesn't always lead to success. That is well below the average, but at the same time it's your experience with them and that's worth noting.

I think this just goes to show that the TFC is overall the better choice for indirect fire. It has such an important benefit that applies even if it isn't outright removing handfuls of models a turn.

Well, you're typically shooting at infantry in a building, so 2+ or 3+ saves.

You're getting 4 shots average, 3 hits, 2/3 wounds. Then they roll a save.

Not worth the points. Banning Chronus from the Scorpius was a bad call I think - for Ultras specifically. They could have limiter the Strat instead.

2CP is a lot to burn on a Whirlwind in an army hungry for strats.

"What does cover have to do with anything?"

-Rogal Dorn, probably
