Questions - List building with Warlord Traits & Relics

I'm diving back into playing Raven Guard after a year or so away from the army and I have some questions regarding list building.

1. The stratagem "Hero of the Chapter (1 CP)", can those Warlord Traits only chosen for the "SPACE MARINE WARLORD TRAITS" and "VANGUARD WARLORD TRAITS"? Or can I select a Warlord Trait from the Raven Guard Supplement to use for this stratagem?

2. When using the stratagem "Masters of the Trifold Path (1 CP)". The FIRST Warlord Trait can be from any list (SM, Vanguard or RG) but the SECOND one MUST be from the Raven Guard Supplement. Also I understand this can only be used on a NON-NAMED CHARACTER that is named your WARLORD.

3. Aside from the "free" relic your battle-forged army gets is there any way to get an additional "RELICS OF THE RAVENSPRIE" relic? Say Ex Tenebris AND The Armour of Shadows in the same list? Also I understand that you have use the stratagem "Token of Brotherhood (1 CP)" for a SUCCESSOR CHAPTER to get just ONE of these same relics.

4. If I want to use the stratagem "Favored of the Ravenspire (1 CP)" but NOT give it to a "SERGEANT" but say to a PHOBOS CAPTAIN how would I be able to do that?

That's all I have at the moment but I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future. Thanks in advance.

1) Can be any Warlord trait the unit has access to. So a Phobos Captain can choose from any of the 3.

2) You've got this one correct.

3) The extra relic Strategem from the main Codex still applies. This is tripping up a lot of people.

The Supplements are rules that can be used in addition to the main Codex, they do not replace them. So any relics, WL traits, and Strategems found in the main Codex are still 100% valid.

4) The Favoured of the Ravenspire Strategem is specifically intended to allow a Sergeant to take special issue wargear or a limited list of relics. If you want to give a Captain a relic use the Relic of the Chapter Strategem from the Codex. It's the same end result, but a different way of getting there.

Thank you for your answers. So this is how I understand it now.

1. When using this stratagem on a model you can select ANY Warlord Trait they have access to.

2. Done & done...

3. So the stratagem "Relics of the Chapter (1 CP)" works the same way as "Hero of the Chapter (1 CP)" does? Whatever relic (SM or RG book) the model has access to they can use this stratagem to use it. Therefore more than one "RELICS OF THE RAVENSPRIE" can be selected per army, as long as you pay the CP for it.

4. That stratagem is for SERGEANTS, I want to use the stratagem above to use those relics on CHARACTERS then.

***BONUS***

5. If Shrike ISN'T my Warlord can I still give him his Warlord Trait, Shadowmaster via the stratagem "Hero of the Chapter (1 CP)"?

Yes.

However, he is still locked into that Warlord trait whether he is the Warlord or not. So you can't use Hero of the Chapter to give him a different one.

(Anticipating your next question).

I was disappointed in that. Swift and Deadly seems like it would be more useful for him.

Also worth noting is that we are no longer limited to 3 relics. We can take as many as we want to spend CP on +1.

Nice help there Claws :)

I keep having to stop myself from digging into the Relics and Traits too deep when building my list. It's a trap in my mind, because while there are a lot of 1CP Strats (which I can see using about 4 before the game begins. There are so mant good ones now that are game turning and a few really expensive one that could turn the game.

Dose a captain from a successor chapter that is drawn from the basic codex, chapter has difderent traits, have access to relics and WL traits from the RG supplement?

Or dose the successor have to be a mirror/ clone chapter with different colors but same traits to have access to the Ravenspire?

If you are a successor, you have to pay a 1CP tax per Ravenspire Relic you wish to take.

RG successor chapter must use the stratagem "Token of Brotherhood" (1 CP) to gain access to Relics of the Ravenspire. That stratagem can only be used once.

RG successor chapter must use the stratagem "Favour of the Ravenspire" (1 CP) to gain access to Special-Issue Wargear. That stratagem can be used more than once.

So 1 big boy relic and as many small baby relics as you see fit, costing X CP of course...

RG successor chapter must use the stratagem "Favour of the Ravenspire" (1 CP) to gain access to Special-Issue Wargear.

This is not the case.  Favour of the Ravenspire is the "give a Sgt a relic" strat.  All successors get access to the Wargear as per supplement p56:

Chapter Relics

Raven Guard successor Chapters have access
to the Special-issue Wargear Relics (pg 59);
Relics of the Ravenspire cannot be given to a
CHARACTER model from a successor Chapter
unless you use the Token of Brotherhood
Stratagem (pg 61).

Favor of the Ravenspire is the Honored Sargent equivalent. You can take the SIW as a relic choice as a successor for no extra cost, but if you want to put it on a Sgt. it will cost an extra CP.

Agreed that successors can only ever take one Ravenspire relic, though.

That seems remarkably flexible. I play a RG successor, dyi, chapter. The Enlightened Sons. I focus mainly on jump pack equipped classic Marines. I allways knew my apple fell far from the XIX tree. The Nomad Perdition fleet story really calls to me.

I'm thinking Duellists, Hungry for Battle combination for successor chapter tactics. Led by a Shadow Captain with Warlord trait Shadowmaster and Swift and Deadly. I want to equip him with the Ebonclaws. 2 CP investment is not easy but fair I guess.
