Suggested Tactics and Strategies for Kill Team Arena

Recommended Posts

I am having trouble playing kill team arena.

I have played a couple of games, but every game the point differential is greater than 6.

I play mostly adeptus astrates and necrons KT teams.

Does someone here can provide some helpful insight on what to aim for when playing arena against various opponents?

i keep messing up on the doors as well and how they function.

I guess it all depends on what you are struggling with. I'd need a little more to go off of.

I generally run a Heavy Bolter or a Missile Launcher to cover those long corridors since you can basically put them in ambush to camp objectives or watch your other marine's backs. I almost always have a solid CC option equipped with a Power Fist or another form of a power weapon so that my list is some what balanced. Another good option is a Termie with a Heavy Flamer. Definitely a great option for clearing rooms since it auto hits. Specialists wise, I almost always have a Zealot, and Demolitions. The 3rd and final one will vary greatly depending on what my list looks like.

As far as Necrons are concerned, they are the most hated army in existence for me, so I cannot help you there other than great ways to kill them.

i never take the demo specialist in most kill team games, but now that i think about it more it make sense to always have one rather than sniper.

i am struggling with the fact that when i am looking at the secondary objective i seem to go for it more than the primary objective.

Is it better to go for the secondary objective if you know you cannot easily achieve the primary objective?

I've always found with the minuscule opportunity due to very short game length of Kill Team, it's best to go after the most points possible, or ensure you are depriving your opponents the most points possible if it's not beneficial to camp objectives.

If it's not beneficial to camp an objective due to a specific close combat threat nearby, or a particular nasty ranged weapon you can't deal with camping an objective, then you need to set yourself up to also deprive your opponent from doing so while still capturing some VPs yourself.

I hope this makes sense.
