Psychic Awakening 2 Chaos factions

EDITED TO REFLECT NEW INFORMATION!

BloodandGlory-Nov02-Content4erdgsfxbvc.j

After the reveals we know  we're getting the following:

  • A new Sorcerer miniature
  • Rules for Alpha Legion, Emperors Children, Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Word Bearers and World Eaters
  • Black Templars are appearing as well
  • New units and rules (for Chaos Space Marines and Space Marines).

They are all described as getting a "codex supplement-tier content" for all these factions.

If that is accurate, that would mean that each faction (including BL) will receive:

  • Warlord Traits
  • Psychic Powers
  • Strategems
  • Relics
  • Individual Tactical Objectives
  • A special ability (least certain of this with CSM, but BL definitely will to add to their Doctrines)
  • Special Characters (Unlikely for Chaos Space Marines if I'm honest)
  • Unique units (e.g. Sword Brethren for BL, again very sceptical that Chaos Space Marines would get anything)

I remain sceptical that we'd get the boost needed to return to the grudge matches with loyalist space marines necessary.

I seriously doubt they're updating the Legion Traits (it would be nice!) as skuttlebutt rumour is they're not, so I wouldn't get our hopes up WB are getting something useful

I suspect we'll get further adjustments in Chapter Approved, but mainly points adjustments.

I'm, hopeful? But god that's a lot of books to lug around.

I’m cautiously optimistic, I don’t really need much in terms of new models, if we get anything like the upgrade packs and rad characters they’ve been doing for loyalists I’ll be pretty stoked!

Current rumor is just strats and relics, no new models except the Rumor Engine Sorcerer, no upgraded traits, no doctrine equivalents. If so...that's disappointing. We could use a little leveling if the playing field.

I feel the same, currently. Add another story/campaign-arc without any worthwhile conclusion or victor and this could quickly turn out to be a waste of paper. But hopefully there is more to this.

We already had new models and rules a while ago...

And the rules part of that update was on the disappointing side. Great models though, even if we still have some older units in the range. Edited by Kythnos

Which leveled us to the meta of the time. It has changed since then, as Space Marines are vastly more powerful than they were before...and we're behind the power curve again. I don't think it's all doom & gloom and there are counter-plays in kits building and tactics, but player skill can only get you so far when the power creep gap is as wide as it is.

I've encountered the same rumors. Marines are supposedly getting the ability to upgrade librarians, chaplains, and techmarines in the same manner a captain becomes a chapter master. Signs point to Chaos not getting that new option, but it's not "confirmed" we won't. Meh.

But I'll be happy with a plastic sorcerer. Doubly so if it's a generic, non-named sculpt. Otherwise... Probably another skippable book.

Look, the absolute most we can expect - best case scenario - if the French bloke is correct is that these Legions get something equivalent to the Black Legion in Vigilus II. That would be good, but I really do want updated Legion traits, and possibly a "build a warband" system too.

A new Sorcerer will be a nice treat, and anything beyond that would be great. I just hope whatever the Word Bearers get isn't rubbish.

If you'd been following things the last couple of months you'd have noticed that he is consistently on the money, so I'm reasonably confident in his predictions. It's not like he's Ishagu 2.0 predicting Primarchs riding dinosaurs or w/e

He's the closest thing to a reliable source we have right now.

Ermagerd, I'd love Primarchs riding on dinosaurs!

cool

The point was that somebody with 100% reliability during their tenure isn't quite "a random" though, are they? A person who pops out of nowhere with a bunch of rumours is "random", this is a guy with a track record we can look at and evaluate. Sooner or later he'll disappear as they always do but for now there is little reason to doubt him. I'm all for pessimism but not a single person on this topic is/was taking anything he said as gospel, so to each their own

Well, a broken clock is correct twice a day. ;)

He has 100% if you say so I guess...up until now at least...

Who are we to say he has the whole picture? Or isn't misunderstanding something, or something else. As you say, to each their own...

That criticism would be pertinent if it wasn't for the fact that, as I said above, not a single person was taking anything he said as gospel. As it stands, it wholly misses the point.

Anyway, the latest info:

Here is the last rumour:
"
There will be boxes a lot like Druk Vs Craft Volume 1 except for Volume 2 and Volume 3 which are the armies of the next Battleforces"

"There will be a character for Smc Volume 2 (Sorcerer) and Mephiston Primatise for Volume 3."

"A box Ork Vs Wolf which someone has already spoken and which I had a similar information for the volume 4."

My news does not go further for PA until the end of January when Volume 4 will be released.

Thats all folks.

Worth noting that this lines up with other rumours predicting CSM & BA battleforces for Christmas.

If true, I do wish they'd spend more time on these campaign books. Sure it's nice not having to wait between installments, but I'd prefer a longer wait with new art & a well-developed story than masses of recycled content. Phoenix Rising didn't even have a single piece of new art beyond the cover of the BOTP.

Either way keen as a bean for that Sorcerer

I'm gonna cautiously presume, based on the pointy ear release (no, not Slaanesh), that we'll get some kind of Warband builder, the Sorcerer (if that's actually what the Rumour Engine "leak" was from) and maybe another model or two with revamped rules, and the odd Stratagem and/or relic or two, with new art on the cover.
