Yes to both counts. You could, you know, like, not overcharge the pistol, right?
Or are people just finding something to complain about a long awaited update to a beloved model?

I'm thinking about going for the plasma pistol pose. As much as I like the mouth wipe pose, it covers a lot of his face. I will have to hold the model in my hands before I decide which pose I choose, I think.

Not if you're in the always-overcharging-club.

The yellow tubing is exactly the kind of thing that takes me out of it and reminds me that GW pushes paint as well. You just know some soulless suit at the top was like “we need to sell more Flash Gitz Yellow. The new hit model has something noticeable in that color or you’re fired.”
Um, you know Blood Angels literally always had neon yellow elements? Tubing too? See the Librarian's hood in top left corner?
Spoiler
It's kind of funny to see callbacks to old times called 'soulless'
...not quite the best example, especially since it's hard to distinguish between the gold and yellow.
Compare to other semi-recent librarian models:
Hidden Content
There's a definite trend of pushing the cabling towards yellow, with only the Phobos Libby having a semi-realistic coloring to it, in my humble opinion. Since it's all subjective, I find it quite jarring regardless of how far back one might think it goes, especially compared to how well the previous Mephiston model's official paintjob pulls off the black-ish cabling.
Anyways, I'm not going to debate such a mundane point any further nor de-rail the thread anymore.
Even more excited to see any previews of his rules!
The official Calistarius from Space Hulk had these yellow cables too so it’s obvious a nod to his original 2nd edition scheme and his pre Mephiston scheme as well.
To me details like this that tie in older and previous versions make all the difference to me.

In the 2nd edition codex normal librarians had orange red cables but Mephiston had black ones, so its a reference to Space Hulk Calistarius if anything.
