Just watched the review video, thanks for the link! They do mention the grots though I can see how you missed it, he goes over the points quickly. Grots stay at 3 points- so just a filthy rumor. This is good, as that would make little sense for what they are. My current list I am working on just gained 120 extra points from point drops and that does not include the 150ish I was still playing with. So CA2019 has been good to me personally. Kans went down 10 points, which makes me consider them again. I rejected them this edition as their close combat to hit went up in 8th to a 5+. In all other editions they would hit on a 4+, big difference between the two. Now kans cost 30 points, so that makes me rethink them.

Ork points review starts at 12:39

HQ- no points changes. However he does list a big mek with KFF as costing 55 points, with grot oiler at 4pts, as a separate unit. (I have seen they make a big               mek w/KFF in kill team, so perhaps that unit did not go to the legends list.)

Troops- no points changes.

Fast Attack- Boomdakka Snazzzwagons- 75 points, drop of 20 points from 95

Deff Koptas- 20 points, drop of 10 points from 30

Kustom Boosta blastas- 80 points, drop of 20 points from 100

Megatrakk skrapjets- 80 points, drop of 10 points from 90

Rukkatruk squigbuggies- 100 points, drop of 40 points from 140

Shokkjump dragtas- 90 points, drop of 18 points from 108

Elites- Burna boyz- 10 points, drop of 2 points from 12

Nobz on warbikes- 33 points, drop of 5 points from 38

Heavy Support- Deff dreads- 45 points, drop of 10 points from 55

Flashgitz- 24 points, drop of 6 points from 30

Killa kans- 30 points, drop of 10 points from 40

Transports- no change

Flyers- no change

Stompa- 800 points, drop of 50 points from 850

Workshop- no change

Characters- no change

Ranged Weapons- Skorcha missiles- 5 points, drop of 15 points from 20

Smasha gun- 18 points, rise of 2 points from 16

                               Everything else- no change

Melee weapons- no change

Other wargear- no change

Pretty sure I did not miss anything. I listened multiple times at each listing to be sure.

The rumor was PA4, but that's just a rumor. Saga of the beast does sound like ghazzy, and supposedly a new ghaz model on the way, so that might make sense.

as much as I hate points changes those seem really reasonable. The stompa fully loaded will probably be close to it's old base costs witch is a bit of a savings for an other wise poorly costed unit.  Glad grtos didn't go up.

Not overly excited about the concept of a "the beast Ghaz".  I know people were crying for a beast guy after that series of books. Crying to the point of becoming obnoxious about it.
Hopefully Ghaz will be a little larger and a little cooler but Hopefully his wounds profile will keep him from being easily targeted at range. what ever the maximum minimum is. 9 or 10 woulds what ever the most he can have with out going over is probably ideal. He doesn't really need a transport so larger is fine.

I haven't followed or bothered to read any of the pa rumors.
If, and this is 40K related and not Orks...and still wish listing, we do get a new edition of rules I really want them to spend more time on the terrain rules but then I yearn for a simpler time full of ice cream and buggy rides and woods that blocked los

So, not only does it look like we're keeping the big mek with Kustom forcefield, but they've mad the FW biker boss into a generic version as well, as the Forgeworld section has "Warboss on buke" listed for 95 points.

That sounds good.
If the warboss on bike had EVIL SUNZ changed to [clan], then I’d be really happy ;)

Him having big shootas rather than dakka guns is nice though.

What's a bit funny&sad... the Squigbuggy came down in points by quite a bit, as I hoped. However, considering the other buggies did too - which in itself is good - the Squigbuggy still seems lackluster compared to the others.

Cheaper nob bikers is nice since they're a staple for me. Flash Gitz are also reaching a nice price, if not for the expensive darn models. Cheaper killa kans doesn't hurt, however they're still "meh" as far as their battlefield impact. Kind of the same with Deffkoptas; certainly are rather cheap now though. If not for the damn rokkits in mine, anyway :P

I'm legit considering a 3x3man squad of mega track scrapjet.

Then 1X3. Squig buggy.

Ram Titans with all my scrapjets

Ok, I'm home from visiting family for the holiday, which means my fat fingers no longer need to flail on my phone and I can properly type out my thoughts.

So, for completeness sake, here's the list of changed points (from Blood of Kittens):

Boomdakka Snazzwagon -20
Deffkopta -10
Kustom Boosta-Blasta -20
Megatrakk Skrapjet -10
Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy -40
Shokkjump Dragsta -18
Nobz on Warbikes -5
Deff Dreads -10
Flashgitz -6
Killakan -10
Stompa -50
Smasha Gun +2
Skorcha Missiles -15

+Burna Boyz -2

All the buggies going down is great. The Squigbuggy is still far too expensive, as it's just not good enough at anything; it's paying GW's versatility tax, when specialism is almost always preferred. The Kustom Boosta Blasta and Boomdakka Snazzwagon aren't bad, but the Snazzwagon is primarily anti-light infantry, which Orks don't really need and the meta isn't really about, while the Boosta-Blasta is inferior to the remaining two buggies. No one is shooting themselves in the foot by taking them, though.

The Megatrakk Skrapjet and the Shokkjump Dragsta are legitimately good units now, especially in this post-Space Marine world. They both benefit from the Deathskullz clan kultur and are surprisingly good in close combat (both of which are what the Boosta-blasta misses on). I bet we start seeing a lot more of these in competitive lists, and they'll still be oodles of fun and dripping thematic narratives for non-tournament gamers.

The Deffkopta's points drop makes them excellent for filling brigades cheap, and I'm thinking there may be a place for taking a bigger unit. 5 deffkoptas is between 145 and 220 points, and rocks in with 20 wounds at T5 with a 4+ save, can deep strike for free, bring a decent amount of firepower, and pack an average of 20 S5 attacks, which can bully some backfield units. They do have low leadership, which moves them into the same problematic territory as Killa Kans, where losing one means you could lose another multi-wound model.

I've been a big fan of biker Nobz, though I've had to drop them due to the ITC secondary "Gang Busters". The point drop is nice, but I don't think it's enough, sadly. Losing the option for Kustom Shootas from the index hurts my build, and now I'm torn between warbikers and Nobz. Sure, for 5 points a model, you gain a wound, an attack, and S5, but the unit can only go to 9, which means you can get more dakkaguns for the same number of points by going with Warbikers. I'm actually talking myself back into Nob Bikers. They are a liability in ITC, but I suppose I could just run 7-or-less... hmmm....

Deff dreads! Already pretty efficient for their points, and that only improves. They still have issues with getting to combat, but maybe we'll see them more often. I still like the idea of taking a unit of 3 as Evil Sunz, Tellyporta-ing them, and seeing what havoc those can make.

Flashgitz were getting used before the Space Marines showed up, but found themselves too fragile against Astartes. A points break helps, so hopefully we see more.

Killa Kans are a fundamentally broken datasheet. They either need to be dirt, dirt cheap, or they need to completely rewrite the unit. It's passable with lots of support, but never in a way that exceeds what another unit could do for the same points without that support. I just don't like any job for them.

The Stompa is still hilariously overpriced. My favorite meme I saw about Chapter Approved was someone saying at this rate, the Stompa will be competitive in 2027.

The Smasha Gun nerf is as good as we could have possibly hoped for. 2 points a gun isn't going to break anything, so they'll continue to be our best gun, point-for-point.

Skorcha Missiles were absolutely terrible before. d6 shots at damage 1, no AP, on a BS5+ platform? No, I will not pay 20 points for that. Now, at 5, if I were to take a Burna-bommer, sure, I'll take them. However, I'd still rather take a Blitza-bommer, which I still wouldn't take (it's better than the Burna, fight me).

Burna Boyz... I don't know. They are still so fragile, still limited to 15 models, and still don't have a very good gun. I like to picture them as more like boys with AP and a decent short-ranged gun. But I'm not willing to pay a premium for that, and especially for a unit that isn't in the Troops slot.

--------------------------

Overall, I think we should be relieved we didn't get slammed. It's a shame units that needed more points drops didn't get them, but considering the only thing that went up was the deserving Smasha Gun, and it didn't go up enough nearly enough to make it bad, I think we can be happy that we didn't lose any competitive options we had before Chapter Approved, and added the Buggies to the list of "good" units.

All in all I think the Deff Dread point drop is good, and the +2 points added to the Smasha Gun doesn't change anything.  I do use 2 Deff Dreads and between 6 to 9 Smasha Gunz in my  Evil Suns lists.  The Deff Dreads do struggle to  make it to combat unless the are Tellyporta-ed or Da Jumped.

I don't see this CA point adjustment making much of a difference for the most part, but thats not a bad thing imo.  Now if Necrons could only be half decent...

I field a dread mob so I am loving the dread and kan drops. I also had 3 kopters to finish out a detachment so I got points back there as well. I was not going to use the kans at 40 points but them dropping to 30 is making me reconsider. While I agree roughly with what toaa is saying I can see a use for them at least in my current list. My biggest beef with them is changing the WS from the other editions, they used to hit on 4+ in the older editions now they hit on 5+ which is not good. And they really do not have the volume of attacks needed to make that not as big of a deal. Ork BS of 5+, not a big deal when you are throwing out 60+ shots. 12 shots at 5+ not such good odds of hitting. They probably do need a bit more drop. Just my opinion. If I was not fielding dread mobz I would not take them I do not think.

I do not use ork vehicles so all the vehicle drops mean nothing to me personally. Though I am glad they dropped for those using them.

All in all we came out winners from this points rebalancing. We didn't get nerfed and got points drops for a decent amount of things. Also grots are still 3 points, so that filthy rumor is false which was really one of the few things I was possibly worried about.
