I am by no means an expert (as noted by my thread below yours teehee.gif ) but from what I've read from various tacticas on my own learning route, you may want to replace the charnabal sabre with a power sword or axe and give him a ranged weapon as well, at least a bolt pistol. Sword means you strike first and axe means you strike hard (enough to damage power armour dudes). The dreadnought I'd go with a duel assault cannon that way you've got something that can deal with infantry, light vehicles and air units more so if you use the mortis (which seems to get a discount for duel buying). Apothecaries, good can toughen up a unit. Tacs I would get rid of the melta bombs and the artificer armour, at this low points you don't really need them and getting them up frees points to buy a vexilla for the 3rd squad.

The way I did my army was aim for a nice round 1k points, if you upped your points limit (that is if you haven't chosen 750 for a reason, like an event or something) then you can add CC weapons to your tac squads as well so you can use one at least as a bodyguard unit for your champion as well as getting a 3rd apothecary to add to the 3rd squad.

Just a fellow novice's feedback, hope this helps.

Thanks for the feed back.
There is no reason for it being 750 PTS was just looking at how long it would take to paint the yellow and thought a small points would be better.

You have given me some food for thought and I will have a look and play around with the list to make it 1000pts.

In regards to the dreadnought I don't really want to buy new bits as I have 4 of the old metal dreadnoughts laying around.

Thats fair enough, do you have any extra missile pods lying around? As you could turn the dread into a decent mortis dread with duel missiles that would be looked over due to the contemptor being a 'better' option but as soon as you start throwing out missiles that will soon change.

Also rough math, if you gave the champion a paragon blade, refractor field and artificer armour as well has a duel missile dread, 3 apthothecaries and 3 tac squads with vexillas and artificer on the sargeant it runs up to about 1k maybe with a few points to spare.

At 750 points Legion Champion is probably the fiercest warrior possible - you definitely shouldn't give him one of the worst melee weapon, but invest in power weapon or even paragon blade. Charnabal Sabre can be ok on some units but I'd discourage from equiping HQ with it.

About Apothecaries: the bigger the units, the better they are. Mathematically they provide 50% increase in durability. But instead of taking an Apothecary you can buy additional 4.5 Tactcals, which offer similiar durability but also increase your damage output. Of course the Apothecary helps any attached Characters so I think it'd be for the best if you dropped one Medic and bought extra Tacticals for one squad which is then joined by both Apothecary and Champion.

Artficer Armour is your friend, most sergeants should have it. But for such a small army it's understandable if you don't have enough points to give every sarge one.
