Job centre in the 41st millennium?

If I have to be something and am free to choose ... some random guy from the upper society on some backwater paradise planet. Probably also a Slaanesh worshipper not long after that. :D

A job in 40k? Let's see... I'd be a grox herder on some backwater planet in the middle of nowhere space where the most exciting thing that's ever happened is the one time my uncle got so drunk he fell off his horse. ;)

Now if I would be transfered with my current job (retail worker) then I guess some sort of manufatorum work. If I had a choice then a serf of a, less harsh, chapter serving on the bridge of a vanguard light cruiser or strike cruiser.

I love me some space ships.

Rogue Trader, they are to have more freedom than most other options in 40k.

Either that or a chef working in a SM fortress monastery. Non combat job in the kitchen, no doubt it would be hard work but it's one of the more secure places to be, with access to warmth and food so better than 99% of the imperium already.

Most days it will just be prepping nutrient gruel, just with the occasional feast day to cater for.

I'd likely be a Moderatii-Servitor on a Adeptus Administratum datanet, moderating the opinions of Imperial citizens as they argue about whether or not Cawl should have released the Primaris; if any citizens are still discussing the Horus Heresy and the ever-rising price of Corpse-starch.

If I could choose, I'm thinking a rogue trader of some sort.

If job skills need to be accounted for, then I'm already a member of my local Adeptus Administratum, so that seems a fit. Hopefully I'd end up somewhere relatively nice like Macragge (when chaos and tyranids aren't invading).

I'd open my own franchise. I'd be a merchant selling my own line of painfully real and boring miniatures based upon the universe I've swapped. It would simply be called

"Wolverhampton 2020, in the grim future of the darkness there is only disappointment"

I would be an important member of the Hive Construction-Fabricator, producing and replicating pictopgrahic representations for building of new or refurbished dwelling and/or manufactorums, to help keep my Imperial Hive city being the best and most productive on the planet. I would be one in a team of 10,000 similar and dedicated workers, essential cogs in the machine one and all.

Glory to Hive Mundanus. Glory to the Imperium. Glory to God Emperor of Mankind!

(Much as I do now. I draw buildings, and they get built. :happy.: )

Student-counsellor at a Schola Progenium would be ok. "You are a faithful and a prime physical specimen of the female gender, congrats you are now chosen by the sisterhood." "You are a bully with some leadership skill, the guards needs you as a Commissar" "You have some charisma, and knows the Imperial creed, the Imperium needs you in the church." "You know how to point a weapon in the right direction, and kind follow rules without asking, may the Emperor be with you when you enter the Militarum Temepestus." "You are able to read, but is not fit for the soldiering life, off to the Administratum with you."

Preferably on a world far away from any front.
