I think big black knight blobs are the way now. First turn charges are almost guaranteed for them with the warlord trait. And that makes us at least midtier. 41 str 5 attacks will kill almost anything

Boo, specifically Deathwing Terminators and not just any Deathwing. Guess there’s no desire for T9 Leviathans

Sure it would have been great.

But given from now on my Deathwing will not go out without the 5+++ Ancient and we have the -1 to be wounded in Combat & the cannot be wounded on better than 4+ strat/warlord...

Interesting things to be done to stay at full hitting potential long enough :happy.:

Few things i was thinking about...

Undying Lazarus Command Squad

- Take Lazarus

- Take Vets (whatever loadout you would like)

- Add some characters with the Deathwing keyword (especially Ancient with 5+++ Feel No Pain relic)

1) Your Deathwing characters benefit from the 5+++ (Ancient)

2) If they do take a Wound transfer it to your Vets (2+), they take a Mortal Wound

3) Use Lazarus bubble against Mortal Wound to save your Vets (another 5+++)

So basically your opponent has to hit, to wound, you roll the armor/invulnerable save, you roll deathwing feel no pain, you roll the wound transfer, you roll lazarus feel no pain :teehee:

Chaplain Dreadnought of Doom

- Take Chaplain Dread with two Fists & Mantra of Strength

- Give him Inner Circle (-1 CP) to get the Deathwing keyword

- Give him the "cannot be wounded on better than 4+" Deathwing warlord trait

- Add Deathwing Ancient (FnP relic not necessary for this) and Asmodai (pick the litanies you like)

You're looking at a model that cannot be shoot at (because character with less than 10 Wounds), otherwise it's T7 (cannot be wounded on better than 4+), 3+/5++, 6+++.

He's wounded ? Doesn't matter because with Duty Eternal (-1CP) you halve the damage and he still have 9 Wounds without degrading stats.

Offensively we're talking about 8 attacks on a 2+ reroll the 1's S16 AP-3 Dmg4 (AP-4 under Assault Doctrine).

Use Outnumbered Never Outmatched (-1CP) if he run into a blob... not very fun but why not.

More likely use Chapter Honor to fight twice (-3CP) if he ran into something big for a potential of 64 unsaved wounds if he does a full (for reference a Warlord Titan is 70 Wounds).

If you're that guy combine those two strategies :whistling:

From the Warhammer community page Lararus is 105 points

105 is pretty good tbh. I can see him making it into a greenwing gunline list next to Azrael and a whole host of other support characters.

Lay low the mighty could be useful on dreads that have been given DW with a dread ccw. Can you give a leviathan the deathwing keyword?

There are a couple of combo's that come to mind Chaplain mantra of strength with Deathwing Knights + Deathwing ancient

These should kill just about anything with a bit of strat help the thing is the knight masters wounds carry over 3 attacks + shock assault + mantra + ancient = 18 damage which carries over

Thoughts?

Mantra of Strength only applies to the Chaplain himself.

So it does oh well just have to go with the 10 damage + change to a Librarian for the re-rolls there's a couple of strats with extra hits on a 6 getting Asmodai anywhere near is going to be too difficult

Exhortation of rage - would it be worth it

Been trying to find out if you can give sgt's special wargear but the Ultra's use a strategem which I don't think we're getting

Ravenwing apothecary looks useful points have come down and it's another beacon to come down on + there's a -1 to invun relic

It's useful if you have a high volume of attacks (for example Knights supported by Asmodai + Ancient) other than that it's not very good.

I can confirm this combo wrecked face even before shock assault.

Just had a look at the sprue for Lazarus - nice to see how they've made it so that you can easily swap arms etc and will be able to (hopefully) easily re-use the spare parts else where. Shoulder pads are even complete pieces rather than molded on the arms so really easy to customize.

The hand holding the bolter and the bolter itself even look like fully separate pieces for easy(well easier) swapping of this for another weapon.

Well done GW, this should make for some pretty good kit bash options.

A Interrogator Chaplain can deal 15.55 wounds to a Knight on average.

A Interrogator Chaplainwith mastercrafted PF will lose 1 A and 1 S but the damage is 4D on average, that will be 17.78 wounds on average.

A master with same relic but TH has 1 less S but still the same attack, can deal 18.14 wounds on average, due to build in reroll 1s to hit.

A master with mastercrafted TH has 1 less A and 1 S but the damage is 4D, that will be 20.74 wounds on average.

For the same buffs, a master just better than a Interrogator Chaplain because he can take TH. And the Litanies have chances to fail.

So for killing a knight, mastercrafted weapons is better then new DW relic. The new relic will be better to anti infantries due to 1 more attack.

Well, Interrogator-chaplain can take thunder hammer. He exchanges it for his bolt pistol.

Interrogator-chaplain with jump pack, thunder hammer, Key of Achraebel, Lay low the mighty, Mantra of strenght. 135 pts. 6 attacks on charge, s12 ap3 4d, re-roll wounds against characters and 8+ wounds units.

Wow. Never notice that!

(consider the lion and the wolf CP

Then Mastercrafted TH Interrogator-chaplain: 6 A 22.22 wounds.

The Key of Achraeble TH Interrogator-chaplain: 7A 20.74 wounds.

(if no the lion and the wolf CP)

Then Mastercrafted TH Interrogator-chaplain: 5A 18.52 wounds.

The Key of Achraeble TH Interrogator-chaplain: 6A 17.78 wounds.

(if no the lion and the wolf CP and Litanie failed)

Then Mastercrafted TH Interrogator-chaplain: 4A 14.81 wounds.

The Key of Achraeble TH Interrogator-chaplain: 5A 14.81 wounds.

So, if your A after buffed > 4, you'd better use mastercrafted TH. If your total A after buffed < 5, chose new relic.

is it Str 12 or Str 11? Is the +1 Str from the litany calculated before or after the TH x2 strength modifier?

I think str12, because litany add 1 point of strenght to a model, not a weapon, and then thunder hammer doubles strenght of a model.
