Advent calanders

My wife bought me the calander. It’s probably a little expensive. But if you take a print from warhammer art starts unframed at £35, you couldn’t get 3 of them. It’s a great idea, I’m really enjoying it. I can get a nice a3 frame for less than a tenner or a really nice wooden one for 20 and interchange the pictures.

Sorry I’m usually typing on my phone, it’s got a huge rubber defender and screen protector on it as I work outside all day. Cold hands don’t help and I’m not always the best speller. A cluster of potential typos. A keyboard probably wouldn’t help me anyway haha

Has anyone shared the whole series yet? Im loosely following Garros but id prefer to just see it all, i couldnt justify the high but surprisingly reasonable cost myself.

You can’t share a whole advent calander in December the 11th! What’s wrong with you man! Have you lost the run of yourself??

Today’s is Horus v the big E by Neil Roberts. I know he’s a popular artist but I’ve never been able to really enjoy his stuff. Horus's face just looks awful in it. Big red apple

Opened the Christmas Day envelope this evening as the room is being cleared for tomorrow’s chaos. It’s a stunning metallic foil picture of Astor Sabbathiel. Simply beautiful. Very steam punk with shining brass cogs covering the background.

Unusual end as she isn’t a major figure in BL fiction only appearing in a short Inferno story The Karsharat Abomination by George Mann. I haven’t read it. I did read her dark angles comic a few years back. Perhaps there are plans for her in the year ahead? Although the picture itself is standout brilliant.

I’ve loved this advent calander. I would think it unlikely they would do it again. But 10/10 for BL thinking outside the box and trying something different. Worked for me.

I admire your restraint in not tearing them open instantly. That last one does sound lovely.

I slightly regret not getting this, had it been a4 I’d have gone for it for sure. The pictures I’ve seen have been lovely, the Guard ones especially so. I managed to pick up the cover for Rites of Passage on eBay for a reasonable price, so that’ll go up on my only unadorned bit of wall in my study* in the new year...

You’re right. There’s a novel coming next year according to Amazon.de. Sabbathiel: Salvation is the name I think.

I have two little ones who would give me an awful torturing if I opened them in advance!

My spare room is all hobby stuff as well. I’ve an a3 frame I’m going to use for alternating the advent prints. So many of them were great.

I agree that a4 would have been better. I’ve three pictures from warhammer art and would have more if they did smaller ones. I wrote to them telling them that and they replied to say gw specified the sizes in some cases and they only went big never small. So wall space runs out fairly quickly.
