Alternative chaos spawn models?

Has anyone used alternative models to the GW kit for their chaos spawn?

 

I had a couple of old zombiecide minis that I thought might be ok to fill out slots in a theoretical nightlords outrider detachment.

 

 

(Currently have them on 40mm bases, but I understand 50mm is the new standard?)

Playing with the bases but I guess I’m gonna slap them on 50s as soon as get some.

Here are my four spawn. Made from AoS Crypt Ghouls and bad dreams ;)

And individual shots (well, none of them are actually individuals...more `hideous amalgams of debauched fools`)Firstly, "The Kiss"

Second, "Birthday"

Third, "Human centipede"

Bloody botty

Bloody blindfold...and the second face that gets scraped along the ground as the thing moves

And lastly,

"Peekaboo"

A gaping mouth can be seen where there should be an arm on the lower torso. I think this one best shows what I wanted to do with the basing: having the grass of the Eldar maiden-world withering and dying before the tread of the Slaanesh daemons upon it.

Used one of the fantasy Crypt Flayers as the base mini, and some wire and other assorted bits I had laying around.

Kierdale, have you ever played Darkest Dungeon? Because that last spawn there is very reminiscent of the formless flesh boss. Chock-full of nightmares that one.

You can still get yhe old metal spawn models on ebay. I think those are excellent.

I made Spawn for my Night Lords from the Crypt Flayers kit for AoS:

I did similar, except I used the DP heads and a tail.

Especially if you're doing Night Lords, you can use the winged arms and bat-like head from the Vargheist/Crypt Flayer kit for a Daemon prince, then use the rest of the kit for Spawn with the Daemon Prince heads. The Vargheists even come with the right size bases for it and the DP kit comes with 3 heads (the amount of models you can make with the vargheist kit). The bodies can be assembled to meet a good amount of variation too.
