Replacement for Trueborn?

Since Trueborn and Archons with Blasters are now Legends, that leaves a nine blaster hole in my anti-tank.

 

What's the best codex-only replacement?

If you want to replace Blasters with Blasters, Scourges are your best bet. Reavers can take some too but you would need 27 to carry 9 Blasters which might be a tad excessive.

 

If you are more flexible about your anti-tank, Ravagers are pretty solid and Haywire Talos with Prohpets of flesh are pretty hard to shift.

 

Ravagers with Disintegrators are pretty good as they actually have a similar damage output to Darklances vs T6/7, slightly outperform them vs T8 and will murder 1W and 2W MEQs (very relevant considering the new Marine codex has finally kicked some life into the Primaris meta).

Scourges are probably the cheapest option as I have ten - unfortunately only two with Blasters and two with Heat Lances - and another five unbuilt from Blood of the Phoenix. Another box would let me get up to one squad with four Blasters and another with four Heat Lances. After that, would you suggest Haywire Blasters or Dark Lances?

Probably Haywire for Scourges. Dark Lances are better on vehicles where they become Assault which allows them to ignore the penalty for shooting on the move.

Since I haven't built my Scourges yet I took two squads of five Incubi and Drazhar and went vehicle hunting with Klaives.

 

It went surprisingly well!
