New unit wish listing.

Recommended Posts

Oh boy, this is gonna be a long one...

>Saturnine Terminators. They're the "missing link" of Terminator armour that has yet to be produced in model form, and it'd be really cool to see them made.

>The one type of Dreadnought not yet updated (Furibundus?).

>Scylla Tankettes to get proper models, even FW ones (I know they're just tracked Sentinels but don't judge me!)

>Traitor Guard as a proper Codex, with all the lovely new models to accompany them.

>A resurrection of the Chaplain Dreadnought. Preferably with a reissue of the old FW model, but a new plastic rendition would be nice.

>Speaking of which, a Techmarine Dreadnought would be a kinda cool idea, at least IMO.

>Variants of Blight-Hauler with different weapon options would be good, including a close combat variant or a less heavily armed version with greater shrouding abilities.

>A Land Raider or Predator variant for the Emperor's Children with sonic weapons, and totally not just because I'm converting an LR into a sonic Achilles proxy, heh heh.

>Likewise, a World Eaters Rhino or Land Raider variant with greater assault capabilities and the ability to wreck stuff up close itself.

>The Dactylis to make the transition to modern 28mm, as its siblings from the Epic range have all been updated.

>The Dominatrix to finally enter the 28mm battlefield.

>The Cerebore to appear in 3-dimensional non-cardboard form as a sort of super-heavy transport/assault organism.

>Pariahs to make a return.

>A whole new faction in the form of a sort of "Conglomerate of assorted Alien scum" army, kinda like a less (outwardly) pleasant Tau. The Hrud, the Rak'Gol, Slaugth etc...

So many good mentions in this thread!

Primaris terminators! I see them as a bit like Tor Garadon, heavy shoulder mount weapon and then either further ranged options or assault load out would be cool.

Assault primaris. Love jet packs.

Valhallan ice warriors. I'm not set on the crew served heavy weapons for the guard as they are squishy and anchor the squad. Tons of lasguns and surprise special weapons are where it's at. The big guns go on the tanks!

Exodites would be cool, even if just as one unit option. Would fit in well with rangers.

Visually I think sororitas with power sword and shield would be awesome, sort of an alternative profile crusader squad.

If we're talking primaris then:

- A Mortis/siege redemptor style dreadnought fully armoured and armed to the teeth
- A fast attack Impulsor style tank. Sacrifice the transport for some shooty stuff

- Primaris flyer

- Techmarine and/or thunderfire cannon

- Jetpack or fast attack options for HQ choices

Custodes:

- Plastic tank and transport option

- A better plastic contemptor

I think Primaris need a long range, heavy weapon infantry unit and a fast moving assault unit.

Beyond that they need a bunch of new, plastic HQs like a Techmarine, a flyer and an indirect fire unit.

The range would be pretty well rounded at that point.

I've been wanting a dedicated ranged marine hq ( heavy weapons and such) and dedicated support marine hq(force multiplier, but bad by himself)

I'm not a big fan of hq options that are both cqc and ranged

That's very un-Space Marine though to be honest. The characters have always been the melee guys with some support function (this edition more than others thanks to Captain auras) except for the Techmarines.

As much as I like having options, I'm also a huge fan of factions having their own identity and Marine HQs not having heavy ranged weaponry in general is part of that. Leave the shooty characters to T'au and such.

If we were to get primaris terminators, I'd like them to be huge (like abbadon), and perhaps functionally they could replace centurions

Not quite as large as Abaddon, but like a head shorter. Enough so Abaddon still has is "swole due to chaos-roids" feeling.

very true.

I would like:

-primaris allowed in the existing drop pod. I dont think a new model is needed.

-primaris terminators based on the saturnine design with a weapon mounted on the shoulder.

-primaris tech marine. I hope he has a 5 ++ bubble so my repulsor actually have a chance of lasting the first turn.

-redo space marine scouts. This is one that I really want as the sculpts are dated. They can be used in either a mono primaris or mono old marine army too so they have a lot of utility.

-a cheap primaris anti tank vehicle.

-a long range AT option for primaris that is cheap.

-a primaris flyer.

-a primaris jet bike with AT.

-better primaris upgrade sprue. The current ones lack character compared to the old ones.

-a complete redo of the imperial guard infantry with modular design so you can build different regiments.

I like the number of people wanting more primaris and that we are all want the same general things/ideas. Now if GW will just listen and produce it.

PS. Please ask for more traitor guard...

PS. Please ask for more traitor guard...

Your wish is my command! And also my wish too.

More Traitor Guard and DarkMech please. Just bring out the Lost and the Damned/Renegades and Heretics in full force with all the non-Daemonic, non-Astartes followers of Chaos. Traitors, cultists, mutants, beastmen, hereteks, etc. You know the drill.

And while we're on the topic of Chaos, I don't think it's necessary to mention Emperor's Children and World Eaters, but I'd like to get into some specifics anyway. For the Emperor's Children:

- Fleshlings (of Sensoria). As described in the CSM Codex, Skitarii with all their mechanical parts replaced by all types of fleshy bits and driven insane. Just a wonderful choice as the chaff unit for Emperor's Children.

- Sonic Dread. No comment needed.

- Subjugators in plastic. I don't care if they have to make them smaller than they're supposed to, I want to see an updated, 40k version of them.

- Phoenix Terminators. I feel like every Traitor Legion needs their own Terminators, and a unit from the Heresy. This covers both.

- A "Grand Conductor" type of character that's like an exalted Noise Marine that buffs sonic weaponry around him and such. Also provides a generic HQ choice.

- D-D-D-DOOOOOM RIDER! BRING HIM BACK!

For the World Eaters:

- Red Butchers. Same as the Phoenix Termies.

- Teeth of Khorne. I don't care if they're kinda like Havocs, just give them weapons that shoot molten brass, boiling blood, flaming skulls and... sharpened bones or something.

- Brass Scorpion in plastic. Come on now. You know you wanna.

- One of the Daemon Engines from Epic redesigned for 40k. I know the Lord of Skulls is the Lord of Battle, now they can do the Tower of Skulls, or the Cauldron of Blood, or the Doom Blaster.

- Since they're probably keeping the Berzerkers' classic looks, it'd be nice if they did a unit of specialists that look and feel like proper gladiators. Maybe bring back the Triarii?

And now, some assorted wishes:

- C'mon GW, we've all seen the wings, where my AdMech Da Vinci hawkmen at?

- I feel like the Thousand Sons could use a bit of something that isn't borrowed from AoS. Do I really need to say Psychic Dreads?

- Not really "new", but the Tau auxiliaries could use a refresh and maybe an expansion. Particularly the Kroot and Vespid, but if they want to expand into new directions, that'd also be welcomed.

- What about turning into the Ynnari into something more than just an amalgamation of all Eldar factions with three leaders? I know it's pretty much their thing, but as their lore advances and settles, I think it'd be great to see them get their own units, even if it's just a couple.

- Again, not really "new", but I don't really care. Bring back the Pariahs. Maybe retcon them a bit to use Blackstone weaponry, or bodies, or something like that? And give the older/resin parts of the Necron range some love too.

- And speaking of old things, Orks. Boyz, particularly. We've all heard about Ghaz, so he doesn't need a mention, but the bread and butter of the greenskin horde needs a facelift. And if we're taling about new things, well what can I say, one can never go wrong with Squigs. What about a double deal? A flyer that's a "bomber" that drops Squigs, and a Squig herd with an option for bomb Squigs. Nice little nod to Deff Skwadron and a potentially great and funny couple of kits.

Oh I want some more Primaris for sure, I'd like more firstborn too, but the most part know its not going to happen, at least in the fotseeable future, but way, way down the track. I mean who ever thought we'd get GSC back, or plastic sisters. I could see the rereleasing first born upscaled like the CSM, following the design philosophy of the Primaris where the models are more monopose, but at the same time dynamically posed, turning at the waste etc. Kinda like the SM heroes. Won't happen for a good five to ten years though, if at all.

Primaris techmarine in Gravis armour with massive servo harness, invulnerable save bubble for vehicles, and ideally a gaggle of servitors - GW have shown they can do that aesthetic well with Blackstone Fortress and lots of the AdMech range.

Fast Gravis-equivalent melee. I don't mind if it's Inceptors with TH/SS, or Tacticus marines on jetbikes, but something fast-moving with three wounds and T5.

I'm less fussed about indirect fire and light tanks - I've got a Whirlwind and a Predator, and with a Primaris head on the marine poking his head out of the hatch, they pass well enough.

I'd love some more Black Templars stuff, be it an updated upgrade sprue or a Primaris character, though after the damp squib that was Faith and Fury, I'm not at all hopeful.

EDIT: I've thought of a few more things now I've got some coffee into me this morning.

I doubt it'll ever happen for commercial reasons, GW wanting to push us to use newer kits, but why can't I put Primaris in a Land Raider, Storm Raven or Drop Pod? There's more than enough space in there. I'll buy it that a Rhino or Razorback is a bit of a tight squeeze, but the bigger vehicles? They're totally Primaris sized, and a Repulsor is just a grav Land Raider.

Veterans. I appreciate that the first waves have been kept relatively clean and plain to give space and retain scope for more detailing later on, but now we're a few years into the release schedule, I'd love a veterans kit with more diverse wargear options, and cloaks. I'm a sucker for cloaks.

Necron Pariahs, new Warriors and Flayed Ones, new Monolith, new Destroyers. This would add a wonderful psychic defense, get rid of green plastic rods, and only some characters would be left over to switch from Finecast.

While we're at it a plastic Lord/Overlord kit with weapon options, though the Lychguard kit is sort of that as is.

On the topic of Primaris riding in older vehicles, I really don't feel that it was a commercial reason. There will be thousands of hobbyists who aren't buying kits because they aren't fully compatible with their Primaris infantry.

It's probably the long term plan of eventually separating the ranges.

Going back to kits, I think AdMech might be on need of some new infantry options, but I'm not sure what. Something fast moving and capable in close combat, flying perhaps.

Well the wulfen models were made to work as Primaris and Firstblood SM's gone wulfen. However the wulfen can fit in older transports. So if SW primaris go wulfen (with increased size growth and such) , then suddenly they are able to go into older transports?
