Iron Warriors 5th Grand Company
VIXI: I have lived, I have survived.
I use to have a army log posted on here, in the Chaos forum. But in 2017 that came to a end as photobucket change it terms & if anyone wish to use it for hosting there photos. They where wanting $500 per year, or for some reason +$70 more if you went per month. This meant any image I had on a photobucket account, had a horrible image replace every single one for all us who had a photobucket account. This meant the topic on here & over on the forge came to a end.
But I move onto the album we have here on the forum & have never look back.
You can find my current Iron Warriors log over on the Forge forum, over on there you will find a lot more of my Chaos collectiong. So like World Eater, Thousand Sons, Death Guards.
This topic here, will be fully focuse on the Iron Warriors, for the IW sub forum.
Chaos forum - Just recently, it seem the admin & mod team have brought in Legion sub forum to the Chaos area. With start of new year as well. I though was maybe time to bring the army log onto here. Also now more than every a good time to be a Chaos hobbiest with all the release we've gotten during 2019.
You can find the last army log here, just the image are all down due photobucket.

You can also find my facebook & Instagram page here, it just a hobby page & when I got to say events allow me show a few more photos
The reason today are the same when I started the hobby in 1996. Cool models, background, way they game & most of all converting models. Converting models has always been the main part of the hobby. I like the challenge & making models "my" own.
Also add, it because of White Dwarf 202 with John Blanche art work that really got me wanting to collect Chaos Marines. When I started the hobby 1996, I started near the end of September & I think this was the last month of the Chaos release during 2nd ed 40k. This art work, along with the 2nd ed codex Chaos in general have been a big source of inspiration over these years as well when ever I'm looking for ideas.
Here my first ever conversion - Lord for my Black Legion force which was very Khorne heavy
2019 - Photo of my Iron Warriors that Warhammer World, while I was down there in September to spend my birthday.
I started collect Iron Warriors back in November 17th 2001, with Warsmith Abhorred Riddick been the first model.
I started the Iron Warriors for a lot of different reason. With the Index Astartis article from the White Dwarf, as Iron Warriors just got there a few month before I started collect the IV Legion, give background, shown great art work & given some rules to help theme the force. Also I find they suit a lot of my own traits, with me having a forum of autism.
Also history wise, siege & trench warfare one of my favorited & days off often go to few castle, there three with in 10 min train/drive from my home.
One of my friends converted up some really nice Obliterators for his Thasound Son army, before we had the current models we have today. Also gaming wise Obliterators where complete diffrent from the way they are today & your able to take up to 6 in a single unit.
All the models in my Iron Warriors force are converted & all have a theme/sub theme to help tell there story. Having a narrative & theme for the armies I collect are very important to me.
It been a long road since starting this version of my Iron Warriors. I can 100% say I've been happy with every models I have built, painted & use in games. End of the day it about the enjoyment a collecting bring you in the hobby first & foremost as your spend the time & energy. I've been really happy & grateful for all my Iron Warriors have achieve over that time, a lot - back 2011 I would never have guest would have happen.
I've also had my Iron Warriors force feature in the White Dwarf as part of Army of the Month article - White Dwarf August 2013. Really grateful for the help & support from the White Dwarf team & the great care they'd taken with my Iron Warriors. You can not guess how happy I was for this to happen & still a great highlight for me.
Having a narrative for my armies is really important to me. One of the thing I've been doing with this Iron Warriors force is trophies. Ever trophy you see on my models are base on someone I've game against over the years of collect Iron Warriors in general. So any games that have been really great, I want to rememeber them & this is a great way to do it. It also nice to wind up a few friends from time to time, as there a friend who collect Ultramarine who always get mad when they see a Ultramarine trophy.
Just this is important to me & really help further make this my army.
When I first started my Iron Warriors in 2001. It was with the aim of attending my first every event - Conflict Scotland 2002. Since then I've attended a whole host of different events. From Warhammer World Throne of Skulls & Campaign weekend, to local event ran by some of the gaming club.
I attend these events just so I can get more games & catch up with friends. I've met a lot of really great people over the years & lot them I'm still friends with to this day, again met up that a Warhammer World event for example. For me, it not about the win, loss or draw. It more about the epic moment.
In fact two of my hardest fought games where
Throne of Skulls November 2012 vs Space Wolves. We both had three models left from turn 4 to turn 7, think by the end of it both of us couldn't even talk. Just amount people who stop to watch the game.
Throne of Skulls April 2018, game 999 vs Grey Knights. Lord Narach one a single wound vs Dragio on a single wound from turn 4 to turn 6. Ended up asking a member of the event team if they could roll a dice for us to see if the game went on.
But I dislike gaming against Win that all cost player & those who goal are to wipe the oppent in 20 min, deathstar list was one of the main thing killing 40k for me back in 7th ed. I dislike been told to drop my Iron Warriors because Chaos maybe not the top thing & instead go for Tau or Eldar (anyone know me, know both armies are not for me), I just don't like that mentality. Like wise I had no interest in the ETC or ITC scene, it just not how I wish to enjoy the gaming side of the hobby.
But onto the army log - Here the first update & during the next few weeks I'm aim on getting photos of each unit posted when time permit
I recently got the Chaos (can never remember it name) terrain during the Christmas holidays. It been really great fun to paint & just add the Ultramarine & White Scar trophy today. This should be complete by tomorrow.
The Siege Dreadnought. He will get painted during tomorrow & aim get him ready for the first game 2020, when my gaming club return.
With the points drop in chapter approve, that my Champion arm with brand new Combi Bolter.
Then here a few other recent models
New updated version of Sorcerer Krull. A character who been part of my Iron Warriors since 2002. It was the classic metal Sorcerer model I bought & painted the day before Conflict Scotland 2002 purely because I like the model.
Master of Execution
One out of the 30 Helbrute I have in my Iron Warriors collection. He was just added during last year
New Chaincannon arm Havocs
Last year saw a brand new updated version of Warsmith Abhorred Riddick. The update happen as I wanted to convert my Warsmith on how he should look.
My Siege Knight, one of my favrioute conversion & first time trying out transfer. Since then he gotten some new trophy & his chainsword been swap with the one from the new Chaos Knight kit.
One of my favrioute models from the Chaos release was he Lord Discordant.
Then just a few thing I got during the Christmas holidays.
Art work is from Warhammer Art. I've already got another two limited edtion prints from the Iron Warrior seen in codex Chaos Space Marines & the front cover of ADB Black Legion novel.
Also got the First Wall novel for Christmas. Was really gutted when the novel sold out during the Sister of Battle disator. I was on the page to print my order when it lock up. When the site return to normal, I'd loss it due been sold out... But seem the Chaos Gods where watch out for me.
