Which loyalist Primarch would you like to see next?

BLACK BLΠFLY

The Lion and Russ coming back to form their own independent Imperial factions as foils to Guilliman.

This.

It would definitely add some much needed pathos in this noblebright universe.

Besides, they already copied the Ruinstorm from the Heresy, they might as well do another version of Imperium Secundus.

There's nothing noblebright about what's currently happening in the 40k universe though.

Oh...really?

Alright I gotta ask. Are you actually serious with this one or is that just a bad trolling attempt? :huh.:

Crusading Black Templar Dorn, disinterested in the defense of Sol system anymore, taking and growing Black Templars and purging the other side of the galaxy with zeal and fury to put Carcharodons to shame.

The Master of Mankind's not-daemon Ferrus Manus with the whole Legion of the Damned in tow, a complete wrench in everyone's plans, unpredictable, yet still the embodiment of the Emperor's Will.

Probably the only acceptable way to return Ferrus. Not sure GW are brave enough to take this sort of leap' even if it fits quite well within the current PA push.

I like this idea. But Russ went into the Warp after Magnus, what if Russ comes back as...

Dum dum dum

...a Wulfen? A primarch sized Wulfen...

Isn't is impossible for Russ to even become a Wulfen because he didn't drink from the Cup of Wulfen or something like that? I'll admit I'm no expert on Space Wolves lore, but I do recall hearing something along those lines in one of the "Wulfen Russ" conversations.

And I also cast my vote towards Odin Russ. Older, wiser, one-eyed, but still a warrior king. Perfect counterpart to Magnus too.

Yeah, Russ himself can't be a Wulfen because he himself lacks the Canis Helix. His sons, yes. Himself? No.

The Warp is a crazy place and all kinds of things happen there. And they could retcon that pretty easily, the Wulfen story itself changed and if they think Wulfenruss would sell more models that's probably what they'd do.  To be totally honest I think Russ should reemerge from the Warp exactly as he went in (more a plastic version of the FW model) and he thinks it's only been a couple of weeks.

*blink*

"Wait...it's been how long?"

*blink*blink*

"What the hell did you people do to my father's empire?!?"

Actually Russ reemerging and the Wolves fighting to wipe out every chapter with librarians would be kinda fluffy wouldn't it?

so valrak or someone 1-2 years ago inquired about Russ and how he might be in 40k with some of the model designers, and it was heavily implied, no RUss is not wulfen, in 40k he would be more akin to odin, older wiser.

I'd much rather have Russ be Odin/Rune Lord Thor, he's a psyker now and a mentor. A 180 flip from the 30k self.

Russ lacks the canis helix. Prior to the canis helix there was no case of the wulfen. Only after Russ asked the Emperor to make the "Cup of Wulfen" to bring his old guard in as SM did it happen. Russ never partook of the cup.

However GW could just say "lol retcon, he now has the canis helix" and screw over decade of lore.

He’s described as having fangs so he’s not totally “normal” and the Warp could exacerbate whatever’s divergent about him. That sorta gives GW an out to do something funky but I still think Russ looking like his 30k model and having no sense of time passing would the coolest.

Atm, I say the highest chance of someone returning on the loyal side is Corax.

but I ask primarchs, loyal, should be different from their 30k selves

Dorn:

30k: Defender (science)

40k: Crusader? (Faith)

Essilchary*sp Leader

Russ:

30k: Barbarian berserker (warrior)

40k: Odin/Rune lord thor (Leader)

Corax:

30k: INtel Sneaky? (shadow is safe)

40k: Shadow lord, assassin ( I AM THE NIGHT )

Tempestus scion/Assassin and information specialist

Khan:

30k: Aloof, Speedster (Watch and wait)

40k: Interceptor, defender? ( First responder )

Fleet master: Navy coordinator

Lion

30k: mini emperor

40k: Warmaster* (primarchs dont need sleep, and whos to say lion was sleeping, he could've been spirit walking in the warp for 10k years, the oly one to be the same in 30k is robby because stasis)

Astra militarum: force projection, operations specialist

Vulkan:

30k: smith humanitarian

40k: Tech advancement humanitarian

I dunno

Attaching a reductive specialty allied group to Primarchs is not the way to go. There are certain groups that might make a cool themed army on the table, but that is irrelevant. Primarchs are generals and would be just as comfortable commanding one imperial military arm as another.

I'll throw an odd one in: Omegon. Bring back Omegon as a loyalist who would try to clean up shop in the inquisition, supported by a selection of loyalists all the while having a very link to G-man.

Unfortunately I think Guilliman would/could not forgive any traitor Primarchs at this point. In his eyes they and anything associated with them is corrupt and intolerable. Omegon would have to continue to work in the shadows and slowly earn Guilliman trust, even then Guilliman would may never do so thinking it's a trick. Guilliman is much more cynical in 40k, he is cynical of humanity and their ability to lead themselves. Cynical of his son's and their lack of ability to adapt (instead referring to the codex as a strict rulebook). Mostly he is cynical of all the traitors. Everyone says "Oh Guilliman needs a foil", no he needs a brother he can trust and alleviate some of the power and stress he burdens. At this point he has forced himself to take it all be side he trusts no one.

Guilliman also disliked Alpharius prior to the Heresy. There's no way he can ever justify himself as a loyalist at this point. Maybe there was some weird case in the past but certainly not by the 42nd millennium.

If the two meet Guilliman will just kill him. And yes, when I say Alpharius I mean Omegon, if he's even alive...
