Noob question regarding sister colour schemes.

Hi guys.

A couple of questions someone may be able to answer for me re: colour schemes. I’ve shared pics of my scheme on another thread and am going for metallic purple predominantly, sacred rose order minoris. My questions are as follows:

1. Penitent engines - would they follow the same colour scheme as the order or are they Ecclesiarchy property and would thus be expected to be different?

2. Non militant orders - do they adopt the colours of the order militant they fight alongside or do they have their own colour schemes and emblems?

Thanks

Yeah, PE could have their own scheme, separate from your order; they are as much instruments of punishment as war machines, so their scheme doesn't have to be consistent, even within a unit- kinda like arcos.

Mortifiers, of course, ARE a part of the Order... Sort of. So they are more likely to match your order and be consistent.

The non militant orders are Orders unto themselves, so they'd have separate scheme from your militant order, but it would be consistent.

The cool thing is, you can get around any of that with fluff. Maybe your Militant Order and Hospitaller Order both hail from a shared convent, and ancient pact dating back to the aftermath of the Age of Apostasy, the two Orders integrated so closely that they adopted a shared livery. Maybe a penitent Engine is adopted by the sisterhood after protecting the Shrine of the Order's Patron Saint. Heck, if you're a nerd like me you could write a special mission where the last PE standing is adopted in the event that shrine doesn't fall.

I don't think the Mortifiers are necessarily the product of your specific order.  They are simply a battle sister that has been deemed beyond redemption and there would be no way back to good standing as is the case with Repentia.  Now, that's not to say your order did not supply the Mortifiers you field, but at the same time... perhaps a crime was committed against another order and that is the punishment... or simply another order had no use for them and passed them over "on loan" as it were.  Their purpose is to die, or at least be tormented for their sins on the battlefield, and if the order doesn't expect direct conflict for a time (for any number of reasons)... they may see passing their Morifiers over to a conflict-ready unit a final act of mercy for their lost sister.

All that to say: I don't think that Mortifiers have to be your order's colors... but they CAN be.
