Hi all,

The latest "up for pre-order next week" article is live and while the majority of it isn't relevant, the big news for us is that the two gangs and, perhaps more importantly, the Zone Mortalis terrain kits from Necromunda Dark Uprising will be available to buy separately!

Regardless of which Gang you play, you’ll want to pick up some Zone Mortalis terrain for them to fight over. These kits have been designed to be as interchangeable as possible, offering maximum opportunity to create a variety of different scenery layouts. Of course, the Zone Mortalis kits aren’t just for Necromunda – use them for Warhammer 40,000, The Horus Heresy and Kill Team too! Want to create a bunker complex for your Primarch to storm? How about the interior of a space hulk for your Terminators to clear of a Genestealer infestation? An underhive sector where Deathwatch are fighting off an Ork invasion? You can do all of this and more with the Zone Mortalis kits, they’re just so flexible.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on these awesome new gangs and incredible scenery, then you can pick them all up now in the Necromunda: Dark Uprising boxed set.

The good thing will be if the walls and doors will come separate so one can skip the platforms and stairs that IMHO dont belong to ZM

I'm a little bit disappointed with next week. There are still 6 or 7 unreleased Sisters boxes, and this filler week makes me wonder when, and in how many waves will we get them...
My birthday is in February, and my plan is to get the Codex and some boxes (mostly interested in the Seraphim). This whole release made me reconsider my feelings towards 8th edition teehee.gif

Or the Vanguard Space Marines and Supplements from just a few months ago, which seemed to take an eternity to all come out after the Codex dropped.

Anyway, on the one hand I can understand it being frustrating, but from my own personal point of view, a gap of a week means the two major blocks of Sisters kits I want will fall in two different pay periods, which is actually pretty useful given I also have a newborn to pay for now!

I hear you! I’ve just moved house and with Christmas, other hobby obligations and decorating/new windows to pay for, a couple of weeks will give me time to get some work done on my new stuff as well as have a little break between spending.

The Dark Uprising box came with separate instruction booklets for Zone Mortalis - Columns and Walls and Zone Mortalis - Platforms and Stairs, which pretty much points at those being separate products that they just pulled the booklets for (it also has individual booklets for all three gang kits and and the thermic conduits) rather than a combined instruction booklet found in some SC and battle boxes.

As for the contents, I would expect the released kits to match the photos shown on WHC:

Column and Walls kit with three sprues of columns, 1 sprue with a long and short wall, 1 sprue with 3 short walls, and a doors sprue.

Platforms and Stairs kit with 2 sprues of platforms with stairs and 2 of platforms with ladders.

A combo kit of the above plus a sprue of thermic conduits.

Anyone know whether the elevator and stair cases can work with Sector Mechanicus terrain.

I do find it hilarious that some people were saying the size of newer marine stuff looks great next to regular humans like Cadians, and then GW upsized the humans so they are the same height as marines again

Ohhh yes. Looking forward to this.

Your opinion is important, and someone posting here probably does care what you think. You should go tell them. Remember that it really hurts to come up with an idea you care about and have no one else care. Go care about something and tell them what you think. Now. Think of what it would have meant to you when you were young.

So much winning.

They're sooo going to be used for Kill Team and even Adeptus Titanicus as bigger Los blockers.

Maybe 9th Ed will be more streamlined than 8th and worth playing, if so they may get use in three game systems at my place.

Two Zone Mortalis columns are the same height as a Sector Mechanicus strut or pipe. The railings and whatnot also have similar fittings so they can be mixed and matched.

Yeah this stuff was bound to come out now after I finally gave in and bought Dark Uprising last week (not that I’m overly upset, DU is packed and I think worth the price at 25% off that I paid).

Now I'm really curious what is in each set.

I think it's shown on the warhammercommunity article:

Platforms and stairs 4 sprues: making 2 stairs, several platforms and a big lift.

Columns and walls: 5 sprues (probably 2 column, 1 short wall, 1 long wall, 1 door sprue) Making 6 columns, 4 short walls, 1 long wall, 2 short doors, 2 long doors

Only thing I'm not sure about is the hive zone. with 16 sprues. Though I'm thinking that's the dark uprising box, minus the necromunda barricades sprue.(Doesn't correspond to the warcom picture).

Dark Uprising also had some Thermic Plasma Conduits in it. It's perfectly possible that this could have both or neither of those sprues in; I guess we just need to wait and see.

Eh, the warcom picture shows the plasma conduits. So I think they will be included. Though all speculation on my part of course.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 2 column frames make 4 columns? 8 sides and 2 tops per frame?

Woops, you're right. Confused it with the short walls sprue. Well then the pictures don't correspond at all and I have no idea what to expect.

pre-order pictures here seem to show 3 different options for the ZM terrain:

edit:

sorry meant to add, about halfway down the page. this may give an indication what the 16 frame option includes
