Enclosed Impulsor with twin Icarus heavy stubber.

GW crippled my Impulsor army that I was trying out in late 8thbut I will still make it and and see if I can make it work. With the Imperial Fist super doctrine nerf, loss of fall back and shoot and overwatch it lost a lot of it's damage potential but for 9th it's still a super quick force that will eat hordes and play the primary objectives.

The reactive armor blocks look great on your Impulsor! Finally, someone made a WH40K tank look like it was made after 016.M2!

Thanks mate, It was a real fun build and I'm doing 3 more for the fast force. Look forward to painting them up as they will be quite beaten up and dirty taking inspiration from hte urban combat vehicles of the Syrian civil war.

Put together the Gladiator lancer also to see how the scale worked out and I'm happy with the result, just need to figure out where to stick the icarus rocket launcher.

The unmanned gun turret looks good, but I suspect the main gun can't elevate enough to be useful when the enemy can attack from above, e.g., in mountainous areas (as the Soviets learned the Hard Way, in Afghanistan), urban warfare, or defending against enemy flyers.

Where did you get the turret and the gun barrel?

It has some elevation but not much, it's a dedicate tank hunter so not that surprising. The turret is from https://mortian.shop/ and the barrel is a 1/35 soviet howitzer barrel from ebay.

Great stuf Lazarus as aalways. Loving the Infiltrators and Eradicators. While conversion work is simple, it's still immensely effective when combined with your painting style and the way you apply decals :)
The Lancer conversion is also interesting. I'm not entirely convinced by such a small turret sporting such enormous barrel, but I can definitely see the merit behind your concept. My personal plan is to use a standard Predator turret, when the parts I need arrive.

Primaris Landspeeder, converted from the 30k forgeworld one. Had first planned for it to be in the same color scheme as the Infiltrators but decided that it shouldn't be a fleet asset instead it should be attached to company command as a scout vehicle. Got to try out some new techniques on this one and used it as a test-bed for how I will do the Impulsors in the future, so among other things I have applied a dust filter over the majority of the model and tried adding a lot of general grime.

Thanks mate, I'm super happy with how this army is turning out and when it is all done I should have 3 distinct Imperial Fist themes to play too, My main focus now going forward will be gravis as I love the Heavy intercessors.

I'm super excited to get the gladiator done but it's low priority right now as I'm a bit unsure on how to build the vehicle army as GW decided to mess it up, in 8th there was a a clear way to play it and I think it has a future but as it stands now with un nerfed eradicators running around the list is a bit too vulnerable.

Why does everything you do have to be so maddeningly cool?! It's infuriating how awesome your conversions and painting is. And with such consistency too!

Thats great praise, thanks mate. I spend a lot of time to plan out and think about what I want to do with my miniatures before starting work on them. One of the things I always try to do is to think about how does the miniature function in the world of 40k so for say a captain I will think of how does he move around a ship or work outside of combat, so with that I avoid some of the more grandiose fantasy elements that only work on a miniature frozen in a moment,

Very nice fists!

Thanks mate.

Great stuff, look forward to seeing the Impulsor with more progress.

I'e super excited to do vehicles but they are a bit of a slow burn as gw 1-2 knocked out my list I had in late 8th with the nerfs to Impulsors and heavy intercessors.

Good job on the speeder.
You swapped the original pilot for the Invicor Warsuit's one, correct? How the swap went?
Also, how doe it look up-front? Isn't it a bit off-balance by the fact, that it now has only one pilot? I would honestly consider moving the gun into the co-pilot/gunner's position - the speeder would be more compact and I think, more balanced in terms of weight distribution.
Just food for thought. Still it's a real joy to see :)

Thanks mate. Indeed, he fits okay, the foot rest needed to be extended and there was some small amount of wonk to get him to fit  but a lot of that was more to the fact that as I paint in sub assemblies.

it looks fine I will get some picture of it, the other riders position has been taken up by a search light and if you look back in this thread there is some pictures where it actually was another gun on that seat as I was planning to have a multi melta and heavy bolter loadout. Then reading the rules I saw that that was illegal and as I wanted the landspeeder for it's speed It just became a multi melta.

Lazarus,

I can't believe I haven't commented on this thread yet. Your Imperial Fists are easily in the top 3 armies I've seen this year, I really love everything you've done. So many great touches. Your yellow is especially lovely and works well with the blacks and whites. The weathering is top notch and adds a dimension of realism that suits your force really well. The way you use tranfers also really enhances the look of the models.

Your Invictor warsuits are especially inspiring to me, their great paintjobs and coversions have really redeemed the model for me.

Great work on the Landspeeder as well. The RT silhouette is my favourite look for that skimmer, and your conversion is a great riff whilst still keeping it Primaris with the pilot. At first I also thought it looked a bit unbalanced with only one crewmember, but from the alternative angle it looks just fine.

Really excellent work.

Ok, love letter over. :tongue.:

The Inceptor is is almost done, very happy with how it is turning out and I should be able to get the base and shoulder pads finished tomorrow and then I will move on with the rest of the squad.

Thank you for the kind words, really appreciate it!

The plan is to have 6000 points of Fists when everything is done so if you like what you see it will come a lot more. I hadn't planned to do that many conversions when I started this army but I think I will end up with almost every model converted in some way.

The aim now is to finish the 5 man unit of inceptors, and then move forward wit the gravis force if GW can release the heavy intercessors. If they aren't forthcoming I might move onto 2 Redemptors and another landspeeder.

Work has begun on a prototype aggressor, I really don't like the boltstorm gauntlets so this is building upon the Black Templar aggressors I did for my other army. It's an attempt to get a visual profile more in line with the classical terminators while still keeping with the primaris aesthetics.

Agree with everyone complimenting you on the appearance and effort that has gone into this army! It's inspiring.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of not being a fan of the humongous mittens on the (otherwise very cool) Aggressors, and really like the idea of swapping on the FW rotor cannon instead. How are you feeling about this conversion? Any further progress on it? I might have missed it, but what arms did you use? Terminators? Is there still room for the grenade launchers after converting the backpack (I don't have the models yet, so I don't know what parts might interfere with any others)?

Would you be offended to see someone else use this idea?

Thanks mate, happy to hear that you like it.

With the changes to the codex I have moved agressors to the B list of units. That means that I will make it but it's low priority as they won't be in my main draft army list, that might change as I have some ideas on how to play them as a counter assault force in gravis list. For arms I used the right arm of a Eradicator and in the future I might use heavy intercessor arms, for the powerfist I have settled on the Tartaros powerfist being my favorite for all type of primaris bodies. The grenade launcher that comes in the regular kit should still fit without any issues, I went a slightly different direction.

I don't mind at all when people use my conversions, I usually just ask people to tag me so I get to see other people takes on them as that is a great way to refine them.

I've seen your Inceptor on FB and this helmet is just nuts

On the topic of Gravis - as you are already converting Eradicators, perhaps you could be persuaded to try and convert your own Heavy Intercessors based on those? ;)
I've made my own attempt at a HB variant-wielding one

I did got mentally stuck on the Heavy Bolt Rifles equivalents though.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I have quite a few models to finish first before starting any Aggressors, so like you, I don't see myself doing that project anytime soon either. Still, it's nice to know what parts might be required since I find the planning part is probably more than half of the fun. That said, now I kinda want to order a bunch of parts, so maybe it's a good thing Aggressors are currently out of stock on the website. :biggrin.:

The first inceptor is now done. Why the autocannon? well I really like the look of it and I'm not a fan of the akimbo style of the original, the reaper autocannon profile is close enough to the plasma exterminators. Why GW didn't give the fast assault weapons to the omnis armour marines and the accelerator autocannon to the gravis I will never understand..

Glad to hear the Fists were victorious. Nice gaming board too.

Superb job, the new model looks fantastic. I too am not really a fan of the double gun look that the original Inceptors have.

As usual the paintjob is top notch. I especially like the olive green scheme you've done on some of the components (gun casing, stabilizers...). The green adds interest whilst being understated and it doesn't clash with the yellow Fists armour.

That canister and ammo hopper you've added look great, are they from some military kit? They really add a lot to the more pragmatic and realistic look you've developed.

Looking at the flying pose and the wire you used, I really like that setup because I feel that it's more unobtrusive than the thicker transparent flying bases and stand. I've always been worried about the stability of that solution though. Is that thickness of wire ok? How fragile is such a configuration?  i.e. will it bend or snap easily?

Also, is that a FW deathguard helm that I see nestled in there?

Thanks mate. Indeed I'm a big fan of the green even when nit's horrible to work with as my weathering washes dissolve it.

I find hat helps to offset the classic scheme and it makes them a bit more interesting as the classic marine colours secondary colours are red, metal and black. The canister and ammo comes like that with the Tartaros reaper autocannon so I can't take credit for it.

The flying stand is a brass rod so it's flexible but if you apply enough force it will bend but I can't see that happening in normal gaming use unless someone leans on it.

Indeed it is, in this force I will use the forgeworld "specialist" deathguard heads for inceptors and the "regular" ones for my heavy intercessors.

Beautiful work on the Inceptor.

Thanks dude, I have another one on the table that is almost finished and the plan is a squad of 6.

Have been deeply unmotivated because of the sorry state of Imperial Fist supplement and a distinct lack of Heavy intercessor boxes in my life, decided to convert up a primaris apothecary (combat chiurgeon.) to break the rut. Happy with how he turned out and I decided to use it as a challenge model to learn new things and test my skills so it will involve transparent blood bags, white armour and vials.

He is going to be for my gravis force so I wanted him to fit in by being more chunky but without being in gravis armour.
