Paints required for this scheme & how to paint dead Nids

So i was a terrible painter back in the day..god help me with my Sisters of battle now

i've got a scheme in mind which i'll post the pic for & would like to know what paints you think i'd need to pull it off

Oh & a good dead nid scheme Hive fleet Leviathan (my Sister order is based around Blood angels)

I'll be buying up Blood angel iconography blood drops/transfers to help give them more a BA Vibe

Any & all help appreciated

If you're doing regular paints that looks like Mephiston-> Evil Sunz for the armor, Wraithbone for the cloth, and Grey Seer highlighted with Ulthuan on the white armor.  You could just spray the model white and hit the armor with BA red contrast paint if you want to try that.

I'll try the spray & BA contrast on the metal sisters since they will get phased out once i can afford it (got 17 of them to trial and error paint)

 

but yeah was thinking regular painting..i'm a suckie painter but want to try give em the best look i can

I'm not gonna lie, contrasts can save you time if you're clean at laying down the layers.  Over white primer you pretty much need one and only one layer of BA red to get a nice bright red which can be shaded with nuln oil or crimson if you'd like.  You can also spray them a bright metallic and use contrasts to get something that looks like automotive finishes.  The thing is you need to be clean with them and once they start drying you can't touch them up without ruining the finish but it takes far few layers to get tabletop quality minis.  I'm actually really liking them for Blood Bowl minis but their finish isn't durable, you need to varnish them.

ooft so clean strokes..yeah this'll be the first time painting in a long long time

but like i said 17 metal minis to toy with first

i've updated the paint scheme a tiny bit..after seeing you say looks like Methiston Basically given them a Very deep crimson skirt & sleeves

A sort of blood angels/flesh tearers feel + his cloak kinda got this vibe

Would like your opinion on the change

The red cloth gets kinda lost, I liked the first one. If you wanted a red value on your cloth you might consider purple maybe? Cream colored robes still looks better IMO.

I'm just trying all sorts of combos i think this is my 11-12th scheme haha

Have you considered a brown cloth to give them a more monastic feel with the red? I feel brown is vastly under represented in 40k.

i'm actually quite liking the Purple..given the whole theme based around Blood Angels & the devastation of baal,it could signify the Nid blood spiilt on the planet & moons
