As this is going to be my first list, I'd really appreciate any thoughts or critique you guys can give me.

This is not meant to be a competitive list, but I'm still looking for an army that could carry a match

Just a couple things coming to my mind from a quick first look:

 

- Dynat's ability bestows DS upon one infantry unit, not upon himself though. So, you might DS the Terminators with it, but he will need to find another unit to join (the nine-strong Headhunter squad in the Dreadclaw comes to mind).

 

- Don't go for the Plasma Cannon on Sky Hunters, you won't be able to fire it after jinking.

 

- Drop the Havoc Launcher on the Cortus and upgrade one CCW to a Chainfist. Double Grav is good.

 

- Tartaros want to assault from an Assault Vehicle, not DS and just stand there for one round or shoot their ... Combi Bolters. For podless DS you either use Cataphractii w. Combi Plasmas, or Lernaeans.

 

- Destroyer Squad is incredibly pricey. If you go down that route they need an Apothecary for FnP. Three Phosphex Bombs on the Sergeant is a waste, he'll be able to toss maybe one before he'll go down.

 

- Same is true for the Headhunter units: They're so expensive, you might want to protect them some more with added FnP. I'd downsize them to seven (or max eight) legionaries, ditch the Heavy Bolter and drop the Plasma Pistols on the Sergeants, and try to balance them a bit more against the rest of your list. Yes, they can Infiltrate even without you dedicating your MT to it, but they'll be shot of the board turn one if footslogging. Give them FnP or metal boxes at the least.

 

- In my personal (and limited) experience, Headhunter Leviathal used to be a pretty crappy Row until they FAQ'ed Headhunters to be able to take Dreadclaws as dedicated transports.

And IMHO that's the only way the Leviathal is working at all, by podding in those incredibly pricey units.
