(not sure if name it correctly) Yes, enquiring minds would like to know how this was done. I'm guessing the cotton wool strands technique? Slightly stretched out dryer sheets. Total time to do the marble was maybe 90 minutes, counting the learning process as I had never tried it before. There's also a good one using steel wool. Actually I hadn't seen either of those. The Drop Pod is pretty close to what I was originally imagining when I set out on this project. I really think you should use some pigment dust instead of washes/inks. The ultra flat dust will really bring out the polished marble. I think the silver trim next to the green is taking away from the great effect of your nice marble/granite look. Maybe an aged gold/polished bronze would bring it out more. Theres no pigment dust needed. just a little black wash for outlining the silver. From pictures I think the silver is too bright and similar to tones in the marble. That and the seemingly gloss black lining from wash steal away the detail from the green. Which looks really awesome in that close up. For real try a light brown pigment dust. .if you dont like it, it literally wipes away with spit and napkin. I recently started using all these tools and techniques scale modelers use and I'm surprised how easy and effective they are Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
