PA FAQ and how I learned to forget about tanks.

It's originally what I was excepting when it came to the ToS in regards to vehicles. DK and Dreadnoughts still get it though. It's a bit of a shame for our flyers and landraiders....but many seem to going infantry heavy in the first place - that's how GK were making a name for themselves in the various tournaments in the past week or so at least.

Yay for 3 usable Dominus powers for Libbies or 4 Dominus powers for Voldus!

Page 66 – Masters of the Warp Change the first sentence to read: ‘Psyker units with this ability gain a bonus depending on which of the Tides of the Warp is dominant.

So does this mean that if the HQ unit has warp-shaping it only applies to him (let's assume him means Kaldor), and not the army? Because if so, that is a colossal nerf.

Masters of the Warp is the army wide ability. It just went from “everything except servitors” to “ All the psykers (and still not servitors)”. Basically they stripped tides from all our tanks, because GK tanks were clearly too stronk.

Edit: Hillariously enough, because they change the Masters of the Warp ability instead of the Abilities section, tanks still HAVE the Masters of the Warp ability, it just doesn’t work.

I'm pretty sure I'm right in assuming this, but does that tide still work with GMNDK's? And if so, would it work with the normal NDK's/Ven. Dreadnoughts?

Well there goes my idea to use Edict Imperator on my Gated Crusader, shoot in the Psychic Phase then pop smoke in the shooting phase for -2 to hit. Why do they hate Land Raiders so much? Haha Real shame as don’t all other Marine type vehicles benefit from their special rules? Why can’t ours?

Well, interestingly, they nerfed the thing that wasn't that good from the start. Just nice bonus and ability to vary lists in less competitive games. They killed it off and forced already competitve lists even further. Like, why?

Fortunately, Inner Fire combo left untoched and we now have one of the best character and not only character killers in game. Apothecary+Inner Fire+Dynamic insertion=5-6 MW on average. That's OK. But Stomraven with -2 to-hit and 2+ save is OP. Excuse me, what?

Not to mention (based of my experience) no-one really uses the stormraven..

Yes, but we used to have psychic pilots, that could have been the simplest explanation. Or even in the case of the Land Raider/Storm Raven, they are both transports carrying full units of Psykers. Why not allow the Tide to affect them as long as they have Psykers embarked?

Really, the vehicles needed all the help they could get and I think they’ve made a mistake on this one.

I was just thinking that, however having the psyker keyword is largely irrelevant considering the GK are all psykers (I wonder whether GW is aware of that fact, sometimes). Maybe that's the way it works? (keeps fingers crossed). I mean Ven.Dreads can still benefit from tides, and (in the lore sense) they are more machine than man, so why can't land raiders? Plus wouldn't it stand to reason that firing smoke launchers and shrouding said vehicle would have a similar effect to being psychically shrouded, if not for a longer term?

It's less about balance, but more about intentional theme.

Yes, looks like it. But why should our Storm Raven cost as much as Iron Hands one and Stormtalon even more? What am I missing?

I would really like to see this at least as a stratagem. Nominate a vehicle and it can use smite and one power from sanctic and gain psyker keyword. Very simple.

Maybe that's the way it works?

Forget the lore when you are talking about rules. One of the best duellists of the Imperium gets reroll of hits and wounds and bonus attacks on successful wounds. With 4 0 1 profile. Rules works with keywords. And what doesn't have the appropriate keyword is not a psyker.

Lore wise grey knight vehicles are piolted psychicly and heavily adapted with psychic reactive materials. And there is a stratagem that can make a vehicle deny the witch.

From a balance point of view when you can have possessed at -4 to hit and eldar flyers at -3. Is it unfair to have a grey knight vehicle get -1 only when that tide is in effect and only if it is wholly in terrain. Will this suddenly stop ravenguard centurions charging and destroying them turn 1 no. Will it stop the guard player from destroying a land raider and stormraven turn one yes but they are still gona kill 1 of them. Does it mean grey knight vehicles are on par with space marine no. As the benefit go's as soon as you leave cover or change tide.
