I was look for any obvious flaws based on anyone else's experience. I haven't played wolves since 5th or 6th. I just came back to the game.

Also, sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I was using a mobile version of the page and didn't realize I wasn't on the list section. I tried to delete it and repost in the right place but I cant seem to find that option.

So just a heads up, calvary are weirdly punished in 8th edition. Cant climb up ruins and get infantry. So depending on where you play you may have a hard time digging out entrenched infantry above the first floor. It might becwortj switching the battle leader to a jump pack to help with this. Beasts also suffer from this.

Also there's very little ranged punch in this list besides intercessors. Long fangs are still quite a strong unit I find, especially with plasma cannons.

Lastly before you finalize your list, you may want to wait a few weeks to see what comes from Psychic awakening.

I second the suggestion of waiting until we get our Psychic awakening book but there are some suggestions to get started with.

I think that Impulsors work best with the Shield Domes. Yes this contradicts Rune Priest Jbickb solid advice about needing more ranged punch but I think that a 4++ on a fast transport really is good. Have them move up alongside Bjorn and they make excellent characters screens for the old boy and you can use them to eat overwatch too.

I would like to see some more dangerous weapons on the Intercessor Pack Leaders. I am hoping to give mine Thunder Hammers but I will have to wait for Psychic Awakening for that.

I am not sure what value the Reivers bring to this list. I would rather run some Incursors or even Infiltrators to put early game pressure on the enemy and mess up his movement shenanigans. Or some heavier firepower.

I would also drop the Aggressors. They are a decent unit but they provide you more infantry-chewing firepower in a list that has lots of that. They cannot ride in the Impulsors and are not very fast. Ditch them in favour of some longer-ranged anti-tank shooting. I like Long Fangs but if you want to stick with the Primaris theme, a couple of packs of Hellblasters could ride in the Impulsors and both Bjorn and the Thunderlord provide reroll auras so you can overcharge them if you need to.
Sanguinius stood up, stretching his wings to their full extent. He flexed his hands. "I need no blade".
It was as though Sanguinius gleamed with pale light, his face white, eyes becoming blood-red, surrounded by the golden crown of flowing hair. Guilliman had witnessed glimpses of of his brother's wrath before, but had never seen the true Blood Angel unleashed. Sanguinius surged forward on alabaster wings, half a meter from the floor, whiteness streaming from him like flames.

All good advice. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the beast/cav heads up. And there does need to be more heavy fire.

I put in the reivers to take advantage of the stalker rules and to disrupt overwatch ahead of a cav charge.

Thoughts on Las eliminators as a balance of early pressure and heavy fire?

I think they look very good although I have not got mine yet. Statistically 2 Las Fusils per squad with OCB on the Serg gives you the best firepower for your points as you use the Serg to buff the other 2 and they can move away from combat if charged (very handy).

1 squad will struggle to make an impression but 2 squads in tandem will put in good work and not cost too many points. Always buy cammo cloaks as an effective 1+ save in cover on a 2-wound model makes them hard to shift.

The squad is cheap in points but a bit pricey in cash. However you get enough spare parts in the kit to convert a squad of Easy-build Reivers into some Sniper eliminators quite easily. Have a quick google as plenty of people have done this and it looks fairly straight forward.

I would drop the plasma cannon on Bjorn for a lascannon. Having a 2+ shot with some AA is huge. Either the Fenrisian Wolves or the Reivers (as mentioned above) can be dropped for Long Fangs w/ TDA Leader or alternative ranged AA.

Can confirm the Impulsors are better served with Shield Domes. They make for hardy screens and great objective holders. biggrin.png ^these guys got it down pat.

a three man squad of Aggressors isn't worth your points - if you had a 6 man squad they could be put On the Hunt and provide a nice distraction. Plus you can always use the lone wolf stratagem if they don't get wiped to get a thick character. msn-wink.gif

If you're looking to play in the competitive scene, your Thunderwolves are going to be a major focus of firepower and if your enemy is a Codex: Space Marine player with Thunderfire Cannons or Whirlwinds, they will do almost nothing. This would be the area to wait for improvements in the Psychic Awakening Update.

If your play group is pretty easygoing and not too competitive or hardcore, I wouldn't think twice about running them. They're fun, hilarious when they clear out units, and provide a very fluffy feel to every game.
