I am considering running a Deathwatch RPG campaign based on the Badab War - inspired mainly by the idea of this amazing thread.
I know there have been some rumblings before about the Heresy and I recall from that discussion that there was some appetite for the Badab War itself. The scenarios would cleave to the Forgeworld books in spirit and may even provide some inspiration to get involved in cross-pollination with the Kill Team thread.
I know that using Badab as a setting may curtail the use of someone's DIY Chapter, as we will have a prescribed list of belligerents, but as I said, we will use the spirit of the setting, so as long as the idea is not too outlandish, we may be able to make it work.
I have done a small stint as GM in the Blackthorn/Sword Deathwatch game (Link in the signature) so you can check my style there to see if it suits you. I will be using the style of RP and Combat that you can also find in that thread. You can use either a dice roller like Orokos or if you prefer, may simply roll them on your table and tell me what happens!
This post is merely to gauge interest at this time and if it goes forward, it will have to be a team effort as I am a complete Luddite and I'll need help with the computery googledocs etc.
If you aren't up on to speed on the Badab War, I'd recommend having a look at this article from Lexi, which also list the Chapters who participated.
In order to make this easier all round, and to give the broadest scope for chapter choice (for the loyalists!) we would probably be looking at a timestamp of somewhere in 910.M41.
I will also be looking at recruiting two small groups of three to four, unless everyone wants to play Loyalists/Secessionists. I'm not against everyone playing the same Chapter either, if you want to do that. Each group will be formed into an Emergency Strike Team, with the Loyalists having Inquisition overwatch and the Secessionists having their own agenda. The idea would be to avoid PvP, going more for a traditional Deathwatch Experience.
Since Xenos and Chaos did participate on the periphery of the war, seeing them in the campaign would not be out of order.
So, please let me hear your thoughts, ideas and queries.
